(JLH) So with nm2 I suspect harsher penaltys considers real money is being passed around? I also stated in another topic that all theft should be punishable no matter hwo it happens and you said not possible because so many other cases have already been over looked and it wouldnt be fair. I understant that much sharing/stealing won't happen with nm2 for the reason of real money 2 but if it does and someone should happen to steal some thing could we start that policy then?

I honestly don't know why anyone would want to or does steal from anyone else. Perhaps this is a useless post in regards to all that has obviously been happening as of late in game, but I have to state my two cents.

Those that are doing the stealing: Give the stuff back!!! You didn't earn it, it wasn't given to you, and it surely doesn't belong to you. How can you with a clear consience, play with items/equipment/characters that you know are stolen. Surely it shouldn't make you feel like a powerful or strong character.. surely it doesn't make you feel as if you are worth more then the next.. this game is supposed to be fun for all that play. People work hard for the things they aquire. It reminds me of someone going out and stealing an olympic gold medal or something.. what is its value truly?? if it wasn't earned? in my opinion, absolutely NOTHING.

hey JLH, if these ungrateful moosing turnips dont appreciate what you do for them, then you should pull the plug for 2-3 days, and let them know how much they really appreciate NM. i gaurentee your msn will be nonstop flooded with ims askin and begging for it to be turned on. Maybe a time out is in order to set everyone, from foul mouthed gate sitters like myself, to the thieves who are causing all the rukkus.

ed/bill also gave me a 5 stat ranger i sold, and 2 arch thiefs - one of which is now authority... the other the 1 off 5 gnome emerica....

so learn the damn story u cow... and get off the game, or does someone have to steal from you to make u quit?

People in this game have a tendency to hang out with known thieves and people who's personality flaws make them as pickable as big boogie, this in turn means they get stolen from or become a puppet to the trash talk. No wonder people keep hating this game.

Advice, there are GOOD people who play this game who are just as wealthy and powerful if not even more so than the nuts stirrers and thieves. Associate with them for a change and see how much gets stolen, and how much BS is caused.

Anyway, a majorly flawed solution to the theft problem... My enemy chat has a connection to just about every "good aligned" clan. When one of us finds out a known thief (even includes people who give out pw or share) they will be added to a list and when online enemy or not people will be able to kill guilt free and have a list that can be viewed of known thieves. Will be fun trying to get em .

i don't think it will change for nm2, for the simple reason of: what is theft?
if you and a friend share (when we say don't) and one of the players takes 1 crit out of the account, is it theft? let's just keep it simple here, don't share your password and all this "theft" won't happen!
as for the other option of getting your computer hacked because someone sent you a trojan or something that you run, get a firewall (zonealarm) and don't let any programs you don't trust connect to the net. this has happened before, and the people who sent various programs just claim that they both shared, so he was "allowed" to take the characters since they were his too. i can't prove you don't share...

If any of you read the post about this incident last time ED/BILL said 'WELL I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET A PIECE OF THIS' and so on mentioning how he was suppose to get a cut of what mike stole from me. So right there proves that ed/bill is bsing. Everyone knows Ed/Bill and I have always hated each other why would I say something like that to them?

Another reason Ed/Bill are bsing is because they claim Mike borrowed their cleric, and now I have it and they expect me to give it back, and they sit there and run their mouths at me and expect me to give it to them?

wth... dude i got stolen from like 3 times, and by my best friends... 2 times i didnt get anything back. And elsie... i did work for my stuff. o.0 well most of it, i just got lazy/tired of the game. so i stopped training.

uhm, you don't have to watch out for di, cuz she didnt have nething to do with it.. i asked to borrow parental_advisory, and then asked him to promote it to show him how to do a "tagging" trick. And he did have access to the vaults, and then i got access to everything, including booting ppl, i did the same thing to you, as you did to me, except u got more from my vault. I didnt remove anything from anyone elses vaults but yours. So as we say at the sizzouth gate house..

OK it just came to me, a solution for those who share and for those who, like me wouldnt share with the pope. The idea came from JLH's reply. Why not code an option into the game to lock accounts to computers. Those who wanna share and take the risk just uncheck the option, those not wanting to share will have the account locked to the computer.

Solves both problems, it sounds possible to do it and i vote we look into this as an option.

Have a seperate password to override this if accessing from a different computer. It may involve staff taking a bit more activity as if a crit is transfered it would be locked either that or when transfering it you have to unlock it from your computer before you trade. This way the crit stays suspended if its transfered out without being unlocked and therefore cannot be accessed to rape and pilage if it is hacked. leaving jlh when he has time to investigate and return or check the logs to see if the owner did actually transfer and try to pull a fast one (By checking trade logs)

I think there may be some flaws and i ask people to voice their concearns on here but i see this as being a damn good option to solve the recent crime wave

RESET THE WHOLE SERVER, NO RESTORING, JUST RESTART FROM SCRATCH, WE'D ALL BE EVEN, SO WE'D ALL HAVING NOTHING WORTH STEALING, STATS STAY THE SAME, OR HELL GIVE EVERY ONE A FREE SIX STAT CRIT WHO DOESNT HAVE ONE, AND EVERY TIME THE GAME GETS THIS BAD, RESTART AGAIN, OR MAYBE JLH, TURN OFF YOUR SERVER FOR THREE MONTHS, AND WORK ON MAKING A GIGANTIC POPSICLE STICK BIG BEN OR SOMETHING, AND HALF THE IDIOTS, LAMERS, AND ARROGANT JERKS WILL FORGET ABOUT THE GAME AND MOVE ON.


or just perm ban random people until the problem stops.
