"The course of prudence would encourage us to flee so as not to have Alex's fine establishment here be destroyed in the battle." Mantis says just as a cheetah runs by him. "But we don't know if Galeb will still destroy this place just for harboring us..." Mantis' head suddenly jerks around to the nearest gate. "My mount approaches..." He says with a small smile.

----------------------
A roan horse approaches Bract, Aladar, and Ulantees tossing his head angrily. As they approach, ignoring the angry horse, it bursts into flames and runs into karfendale, leaving a smokey trail in its wake.

((Ahh. my mount, Beleaguez. The nightmare stallion.))

As soon as the Eagles touched down, Galeb threw forth a hand. Immediatley, the first two rows of troops launched their pikes forward. They drew long knives and short swords and rushed forward, Galeb leading the charge. His scimitars glistened in the near-noon light, his armour doing like-wise. His fingers almost itched for battle as he gripped his weapons tightly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steven blinked a little as the large cat, Bremen, rushed by. He was even further confused and bewildered as Silverwizard began to fly after him. However, he soon shook it off and began to run after them. He really didn't want to but...he really didn't have the choice.

Steven was afraid, excited, hopeful, doubtful, couragous and cowardly. Emotions swelled up in him as he ran as fast as he could. He knew he shouldn't be enjoying this...but...he was...and it scared him.

Ulanttes seeing Bract throws a hand up in greeting, 'it's good to see that you managed to come out of that little fray with all limbs attached, Bract, that was quite an entrance, and also quite the exit too, however disadvantageous to the soles of my and Aladars feet."

Stopping a few paces in front of Bract he looks at the walls of the city, images of the villain who lay within dancing through his mind.

"This is our destination each, we have completed the intent of our party, that being to get to Karfendale with our heads upon our shoulders."

With a look of uncertainty he looks from Aladar to Bract. Aladar, a man Ulantees had come to think of as a friend, however short the time they knew each other. Then there was Bract, the beastly man of complete mystery, yet his ability in combat was evident, if not somewhat uncouth, a fellow of great value to have fighting alongside oneself.

"That said, I suppose this is where our allegiance to each other ends, for each of us obviously have our own agendas that we must attend" says reluctantly, looking from one man to the other. Grimly he holds his arm out in front of himself and waits to grasp the forearms of his companions/ ((this is, y'know, like old style shaking hands.))

Mantis lets out a sigh and jogs after Steven and silverwizard. After he catches up he speaks to Steven. "We should try to spare the soldiers lives, if possible. We do not know if they are being forced into the king's service or if they follow him willingly..." I have seen enough bloodshed. I want to see no more.

Opie puts his fingers to his mouth and lets out a long shrill whistle. In the distance, a white horse appears. "Blaster, come quick, we need to get out of here! Morosurf is comming, if you don't get down here quick you can walk your tubby self!"

Blaster yells out the window "I'm comming, don't get yer panties in a twist!"

Pikes snapped as the charging soldiers hit an invisible barrier. Bremen, having returned to his original form, stepped out in front of the eagles. At a nod from Bremen, the Eagles flew up to soar over the city. "Tell me Galeb," Bremen began, "Do you serve your king above all else?"

Bract dismounted to walk dusk into the city. He nods to Ulantees and takes his arm, “Though, our end paths are the same; or very similar.” He says in a deep, solemn voice.

The moment is disrupted by the angry steed bursting fire and charging into the city, “What the…” Bract exclaims.

A Nightmare, charging into the city… Argh! Ever since I arrived back here, into this kingdom, it’s been like a freakish nightmare. Nightmare – he chuckles at the unintentional pun.

With a sigh he briskly walks Dusk within the city walls, grabs a stable boy, and handing him a generous portion of gold instructs “Just provide her with a place to rest, food, and water – and leave her be. Understand?”
The boy nods with a fearful look in his eyes, “Uh huh” he stammers out as he quickly takes the gold and leads Dusk off to the stables.

Turning back, Bract returns to his companions and, his eyes returning to the fading trail of smoke, “I ‘have’ to see what this is about.” He says more as a question than a statement, “Perhaps our paths do not part just yet.” He finishes, waiting to see of they, too, need to see where this trail ends.

Mantis reaches where Bremen stands. "Leave now Galeb! Or you and your men shall not live beyond today." He yells to Galeb, whom he is standing directly in front of, his hand on Oathen's hilt, prepared, in case Galeb does not take the obvious course of prudence.
In the distance the faint clatter of hooves can be heard.

------------------------
Beleaguez comes roaring down the wide street, his fiery hooves sparking as they connect with the cobblestones. He is now within a stone's throw of the dancing wolf.

“Gonna come watch?” she asks, glancing back to Charon.

“I’m sorry, but I highly doubt theses soldiers are looking for me, so I intend to stay here; I want to see this Galeb, if he shows.  Those of you he may be looking for, I’d think you wouldn’t desire the confrontation; though I don’t know – either way, you shouldn’t do it here.”

Turmoil showed on Charon's face as she leant against the window and peered through it, stared out towards the oncoming force in the distance... Almost without warning the grand horse flew past, the blackened beast whose very steps sent starlike sparks scattering, heading towards the clash of forces that would now, likely, be very hard to avoid

"Night..." her voice trailed off as she stared at it running, then looked back to Katianna. She blinked, cleared her throat, remembered what she had been planning to say

"They are not looking for me either... not truly" Charon murmered to Katianna "but those soldiers... if they are not stopped they shall come here. And then... if that happens, it will not matter whether they are looking for us- they will find us all the same"

She glanced at Alex carefully, before lowering her voice yet further
"Anyone here... everyone here. It won't matter anymore, whether they sought them or not. They will kill everyone here... they're 'tainted' you see" she said with a bitter smile "Thats the way it works. The rebels were here. This establishment hid them. Alex... even forgetting what may happen to Alex, anyone here is associated. And anyone associated is a risk"

"And all risks... will be eliminated" she smiled sadly, her eyes strangely grey, momentarily drained of their light and life "everyone here... they would capture or kill us"

"I don't want to resort to fighting. I don't wish... to make myself known" she said softly to noone in particular, voice tainted by indecision and worry. Perhaps... perhaps the only person she was saying this to was herself
"But if I have to... Heh, fact is, it shall make no difference to anyone but me. I don't think I can... just wait here" she shook her head "I... was a diplomat. I used to sit, and I used to wait... and my world fell apart around me. I don't want to fight... but I don't know if I can just sit back again"

She watched as Katianna smiled...

“Gonna come watch?”

For a moment she froze. Watching... was what she did. She didn't fight, she didn't argue... she watched. And yet right now...

"I don't know" she shook her head faintly "I don't know if I can"

... and yet, she followed

Galeb stopped in mid-stride. For a moment, he just stood there, glancing around. The Eagles circled over head but he did not care. They were tired and there were only three of them.

Then, after what seemed as an eternity, Galeb began to laugh. At first, his chuckle was muffled but it was all too clear once he lifted his helmet off his head. He threw it to the ground, filling the air with a terrible clanking.

"Of course, I serve Him. I serve Him unconditionally...but you already knew the answer to that."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steven grunted a bit as he continued to run at full speed. He was closing in slowly but surely. He could see the glint of armour in the distance...

Galeb...

((This fight will get hectic. Fair warning, if I have a billion people attacking Galeb at once, he will react to them as if they happen in succession, not at the same time unless there's some special circumstance.))

Blaster stumbles out of the dancing wolf just as Morosurf trots into town. He pants heavily and looks at Opie. "They will destroy this town and everyone in it."

"I know Blaster, but what are we going to do? A paladin, A dwarf, and a horse?"

Well then we stay and fight! There are others here, they are out there already, trying to protect us!"

"You're right Blaster, this place, this town, this inn, they took us in like we belonged here! Let's return the favor!" Opie yells as he mounts his horse nad draws his sword. "IT ENDS HERE!"

Blaster is nearly thrown off his feat as a bright light bursts from the paladin and his horse, they seem to become one entity, of extreme divine power. "I think you've got a friend up there Opie."

Nightmare Beleaguez continues to gallop at full speed down the street, running into Blaster knocking him back ten feet while he tries to mount the back of Morosurf. The flames of Beleaguez burn away Opie's pike as it flies from Blaster's arms. Nightmare Beleaguez finally reaches his quarry, he approaches the place where Mantis and Bremen stand, confronting Galeb.

"Then you are the worst sort of fool," Bremen said, "Your king is controlled by a Demon. You can serve him best by helping us." As he said this, Bremen cast two spell: One two prevent demons from sensing what was happening, and another to discover any demons among Galeb's forces.

As Nightmare Beleaguez approaches, Mantis hears the hoofs clattering on the ground. He turns around to see Beleaguez still running at full speed. "Oh, no. I forgot to tell him where I was going again." Mantis says as he begins running to the Nightmare shouting. "Hold, Beleaguez!"
Nightmare Beleaguez ignores the commends of Mantis and runs into him as he stops suddenly, sending Mantis sliding back to where he once stood a moment ago. "Oh, man. I wish you would for once stop when I tell you." Mantis yells impotently at his horse as it changes back to an ill-tempered, but normal. Roan horse.
Mantis just lies on the ground for a moment, letting Beleaguez have his small victory.

((I know this doesn't bode well for my competence, but Beleaguez has a very strong will, and loves combat.))

Galeb smirked slyly as he continued to walk forward.
"...It really doesn't matter if he's possessed or not. If I didn't follow orders, then what would happen? M'Leige would just send someone else...someone stronger, faster...better.

...In retrospect, you could even go as far as saying that I'm doing you a favour by being here," he continued, drawing both his scimitars. He twirled them once and began to do it a second time. However, just as he started, he broke out of it and rushed towards Bremen. A few feet in front of him, Galeb lept high into the air. He grunted loudly as he seemingly flew into the air.

At this moment, all of Galeb's men rushed forward, pikes and swords at the ready. Of the two dozen of them left, half charged at Bremen and the other half at Mantis and his steed.

Silverwizard flies up behind Bremen, "Hold Galeb, you shall not defeat us. You shall back down and order your men to run."

As he says this Silverwizard weaves it into a spell causing Galeb to obey him. Upon completing the spell he conjours a battle axe made of flame then turns into the Silverdragon and gets off the disc ready to do battle.

The imposing figure of a 7 foot half-orc who is about three feet wide at the shoulders stands before the army of the king, he smells like he has not washed in days despite the fact Silverwizard was fine, and he is grimy wearing only torn leather over his otherwise naked body. In his hands he holds an axe that is also 7 feet tall with a blade half that size, it is made out of pure flame.

Mantis climbs back to his feet as Galeb leaps into the air. "I will do my best to spare these soldiers lives Beleaguez, I hope you do too." At that he draws Oathen, its blue blade shimmering in the daylight.
As Mantis gets up Beleaguez jumps over him and plants a kick, square in the chest of the first soldier. Rendering him unconcsious.
"As long as you don't kill any, I will give you extra oats Beleaguez." Mantis says as he slices the head from the first pike that comes his way.

(( Just remember that you can't control any actions of other player characters, nor can you decide whether your attack hits an opponent. Say you swing at galeb, ultimately, it is Galeb who decides if he is struck. The idea of pvp combat is to fight until your opponent has you cornered or out witted, whereupon it's a wise choice to concede defeat or death. Also, please take into consideration the geography and the abillities of mortals. You cannot run from one side of a field of combat to another in an instant, plus you will need to describe each attack in the most details you can. Also, please don't play a munchkin, no matter how strong your player is, no man played character should be invincible *coughsilverwizardcough*. Also, take into account what is happening around you, and what your comrades are doing. For combat to be clean and concise, you really need to pay attention to what your colleagues are doing.

P.S No god modding. You can't say, "I block that", you need to explain what action your character takes in order to achieve the expected result.))

Turning he faces Aladar with an expectant looks on his face.

"Well?"

Aladar turned to face Ulantees, Still confused as to why a nightmare steed would be roaming near a town, or on this mortal plane for that matter. As he opened his mouth to reply he almost immediately snapped it shut once more. Powerful magics were being used in town, VERY powerful magics. Perhaps this was the demon Ti'Anna had warned him about. Nevertheless the power still shocked him into silence. All Aladar could do was nod at Ulantees, and wander in the direction that bract had gone.

That power.... its IMMENSE... I cant be possible... That kind of power is dangerous... I must speak with the user

"Ulantees, be on guard there is a battle ensuing, Someone is using powerful magic... A wizard, not a druid..." Aladar blurted as he realized the implications of this magic use. He slowly drew the magical sword Othiem once more, feeling a thrill of excitement as the steel whispered along its scabbard. Once more, Aladar found himself discarding his robe for more practical movement.

I just gotta stop putting those things on... Waste of time...
