"Ahh, yes this is just the meal a traveler would want." Mantis says as he turns to Alex. "Thank you, my good man for your hospitality." Mantis sits down in his seat and begins to eat.
((OCC: I am assuming that there is food on the table or that Lorenzo has put some out, if not, I am eating the table ))

With a few frustrated moans, and some popping of stiff joints, Katianna raises from her hap-hazard ...bed. Steven... She quickly scans the room; Charon is one of his comrades, and conversation from the kitchen. No evident reason to be concerned; she sighs with relief. Perhaps in the Kitchen.
“Goodmorning... Charon, isn’t it?” she says as she approaches the bar on the way to the kitchen. “Mr. Avelin about yet?” she further asks as she peers down the hallway towards the kitchen.
She smiles welcomingly to Charon while unconsciously tugging the sides and hood of her cloak to ensure she is relatively concealed from distant view.

"Honestly, I don't know" Charon smiled warmly as she swivelled on the bar stool "I haven't been awake that long myself. I believe some have woken and headed for food but... I don't know if Steven was among them"
Charon watched as the woman fiddled with her cloak and shifted uneasily, fighting the urge to fiddle with her own
<Does she feel the same need to hide I do?> she asked herself <Does she also... have those she needs to conceal herself from?>
"A-anyhow" Charon spoke up, for some reason unwilling to dwell on that line of though. She jerked her head at the sign hanging from the rafters "I dare say Alex wouldn't mind if you joined them. And if he is not there already, eventually Steven... Mr Avelin will feel the same need for food as the others"
She was about to let it drop when the previous evening reawoke in her mind. The question she had wished to ask, but had allowed to drop. She looked at the woman now... and now seemed as good a time as any to ask them
"Yesterday" she murmered softly "Yesterday... I heard you speaking... of the Council of Elders. I was wondering... how you came to know of the plans of the Elven council. What business, if any... do you have with them?"

“I don’t know them. The leaders of my guild know many influential members of powerful groups; the council’s threat of war seemed the most serious ultimatum to mention.” She says as she begins to move towards the kitchen, speaking the words somewhat hastily. “Please excuse me...” trails her voice as she disappears down the hallway to the kitchen.
Not even noticing the trophy animal heads as she passes, stopping at the large oak doors, she pushes one open slightly and peaks her head into the room. Scanning quickly for a glimpse of Steven, “Steven’s not up yet?”
Seeing the answer in the faces that look back at her, she withdraws before anyone speaks. Quickly she strides back down the hall and to the bar, “What room?” she demands from Charon. “Steven, what room is he in?” she clarifies in anticipation of being asked ‘Who?’.

Opie smiles and nudges Blaster in the ribs "You heard the man, try not to eat yourself retarded, you're big enough already, Morosurf (my horse moron)can barely handle your weight as it is."
"Breakfast is supposed to start in about an hour from now...but I'll let you guys in first...just...save a bit for the other customers," he said with a loud chuckle.
Blaster eyes at Opie like he would eye a particularily annoying mosquitoe, and simply lets it go. They enter the dining hall and seats himself in between Blaster and Mantis.
"So, have you noticed the girl that has been watching you? You know she saw your... change, right?"
Blaster turns to Opie and asks "So what are we going to do about that Sorcerer?"
Well, i guess nothing, considering Narin hasn't said anything to us scince last night. If he really needs our help, he'll find me.
((ooc hey, if anyoe wants to give me some feedback, i'd really appreciate it. For all i know i might just be doing nothing but annoying you.))

"I" Charon stalled momentarily, taken aback by the urgency in the womans voice. She knew where the room was but she had a sudden mental blank. She glanced over at the stairs
"Stevens room" she closed her eyes, picturing the coridoor "Up the stairs... first door on the... on the left" she managed. She wanted to joke that they should let the guy sleep, but something stopped her "First door on the left" she repeated simply

Would he really sneak way in the night? He has to be here… She thinks as she as she reaches the door.
Knock, knock. She raps on the door, forcing a casual demeanor. Come on Steven; don’t you bail on me now...
She gazes up and down the hallway as she waits, impatiently.
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK. She tries again, a little harder; “Steven? Come on, the night is over – let’s get moving.” She calls to the door.
She listens carefully for sounds of movement inside the room while also giving the door lock a cursory observation.

"...Thou preparest a table before me in the presense of mine enemies.
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for-"
Knock, Knock...
Steven cleared his throat and shook his head, drowning out all the foreigns sounds.
"And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ev-"
Knock, Knock, Knock...
"...And ever..." he said, sighing heavily as he got back up to his feet. He still wasn't dressed and sleep was still overly evident in his eyes. However, the constant knockings must have woken him up (or irritated him enough).
"Alright! I-I'm coming!" he called out as he reached for his pants and shirt. Quickly he slipped them on, not even completely finishing as he opened the door.
"...Oh...i-it's...it's you..." Steven mumbled under his breath as he continued to adjust his shirt.
"...Err...s-sorry," he said, his cheeks reddening just a tad bit as he shook his head.
"...Wh-What's wrong?"

I heard what happened last night...you’re alright then..?”
“I guess knowing the Kings soldiers are looking for you has me on edge...” she says while glancing up and down the hallway nervously – again.
“Sorry to disturb you; join us when you’re ready.”

"Yeah...I'm fine...y-you go ahead and get some breakfast. I'll be down there in a minute..." he lied.
He hated breakfast. He never understood why. For some reason, he never felt comfortable eating as soon as he woke up. Things didn't sit right while others sat...too long.
With that, Steven pushed the door so only a small crack was left open. He knelt down by his bed, took up his previous position and began to murmur prayers under his breath again, relishing in the sound his necklace made as it swayed and jingled in the wind.

"I'm... sorry to hear that" Charon said softly, turning to face the man with sadness in her eyes before whispering understandingly "It must be painful... to think of that loss as a survivor"
For a moment the memory of what she thought she'd seen flickered into her mind, causing her to stare for perhaps a moment too long. She cleared her throat thoughtfully
"It's always a shame... to hear of a fallen people. Then again you seem... honourable. I'm certain that with that honour... perhaps you can keep your profession alive. As long as one paladin, two, three... remain... faith shall not die" she smiled a little wistfully as she glanced away "Of course ones faith can fall into many alignments, not all of them good . Let us hope the intent of a paladin would cause that faith... to be a good one"
She looked around before turning back to him, bowing her head politely
"Anyhow, it's good to meet you Mantis, I caught your name last night... you must forgive me if I failed to profer mine to you. I'm Charon"

Before even reaching the bottom of the stairs, the conversation transpiring between Charon and Mantis reaches her keen ears. He was there last night, the paladin…wasn’t he? She recalls the detailed account of the events at the church. Yes, he was there. He engaged Galeb…
“You were there; last night, at the church.” She says looking at the Paladin upon reaching the base of the stairs. “Mantis, is it?” she says tilting her head up so that he can see her face under the hood.
“Doesn’t it concern you that every soldier in this city will be looking for you and Mr. Avelin today?” she says plainly as she moves over to the bar, standing on the opposite side of Charon then Manits, turning to watch the front door uneasily.

"mmphumm"Blaster replies, then goes back to eating.
Opie walks over to Mantis and the strangers around him. As he hears the cloaked one ask him if he is affraid, Opie butts in "Of course he's not. This is Mantis, he's seen things more horrible than any of you could dream of. I mean, he had to put up with me for three years on the road. Now that's scary!"
Opie whispers to Mantis "I'm sorry to put words in your mouth Mantis, I just couldn't resist comming over here when there were ladies present."

If you're truly interested in learning how to RP, I can start a new thread. It won't have a solid storyline like this one or Prisoner in Tears but it will help you get into the swing of things.

“ARgh!” Kahn yells as Bract’s blade cuts deep into the thin flesh on the back of his knee. His knees buckle and he stumbles as he attempts to turn and face his nimble foe. “I’s kilz yoo!” Kahn rumbles as he clumsily stumbles, still trying to turn about. While struggling to maneuver, Kahn’s eyes glance to the surrounding area. His eyes widen with the first hints of fear as he sees his underlings all lying dead, and the villagers enclosing around him. “Ugh! Weez solderes! Yoo naut low’d to killz Keeng’s solderes!”
“Braasht!” he roars in a blind rage.
--------
It’s over…
Taking the opportunity provided by Kahs’s newly crippled state, Bract bursts forward, taking three running steps and leaping into a straight dive at Kahn’s torso, swords extended before him.
“Raawww!”
As their bodies collide, Bract’s body curls in, bringing his feet up onto the brute’s body, where he pushes off - vaulting back away from the giant. Both fall with a thud to the rocky ground. Bract rises up, swords, for the first time, dripping with thick, red blood. He walks over to where Kahn lies on the ground, gasping for air like a fish out of water, blood trickling from his mouth.
“The only salvation for some is the cold embrace of death.” He says looking down into the brute’s eyes; then proceeds to casually clean his blades.

"I dont know you," He says as he looks to Katianna. "but to answer you question. No, it doesn't concern me. The king and his soldiers have fallen to evil and as such must be punished, and as Opie has said, I have faced things more terrifying than any other mortal could possibly dream of, even in their worst nightmares." Mantis says this last part with a slight grin. "I never said my name to you. How is it you come to know it?" He says as his grin fades.
