((I just noticed that the 2 party's time frames are a bit off. It looks like you Ulantees and company are strolling about at high-noon-ish. Here, at the Dancing Wolf, it seems to be...midnight or close to there. We need to sync these time frames eventually...but, as it stands, it's not entirely important since we're not actually interacting.))
(( Naturally. That was my intention, I wanted to give the impression of many days travel, especially considering they are two seperate Kingdoms. ))

((ooc. yeah, i know the Jay and Silent Bob comment is a bit obvious, but i think it fits really well. ))

Aladar felt inwardly warmed at Ulantees' attempt to tell him that perhaps he was more qualified for the job than he. Aladar told himself it was most likely true, but did not want his obvious celestial aid to show itself just yet, Ti'Anna wished it as well. Ulantees was a natural leader, and Aladar had complete confidence in his abilities to think of a plan. He could help though.
"Ulantees, you are obviously a leader of men or you would not have been leading your troops until recently. I am sure we can think of something as a combined effort, but as yet that is not one of our more pressing problems." Aladar grinned slightly as he added "Your message to King Elwin will have his men scouring the countryside detaining and worse killing innocent travelers. I would prefer we met the bulk of those scouting parties ourself... No more innocent blood need be shed in this dispute"
Aladar quickened his pace as he said this, and at the end of his speech found himself once again walking level with Ulantees.
"The next town is no more than a days walk away, We can stop there to plan how to meet these parties. I have a feeling Bract will not like it, but he will agree im sure, he seems a noble enough warrior. Also, It will not hinder our travel much seeing as the scouting parties will be met only on the main roads to karfendale. I can find out easily where these parties will be." Aladar spoke these words, weaving a slight soothing effect into them. Ulantees was obviously in massive inner turmoil. Aladar felt he should do what he can to calm the storm within this man.
((Eh, thats not a great setup, but I was thinking that upon reaching the town we find it under seige by Elwins troops... We can, for lack of a better cliche, save the day. Let me know what you think))

Blaster frowns as he lowers his great axe "You always do. alright but make it quick."
Opie pulls Blaster into a more secluded area, out of sight of the gnome, raises his hands to his chest, and mumbles a quick incantation, his hands glow with a heavenly light and Blaster's arms and chest bulk up to a surprisingly quick, but extremely strong form. He then does the same to himself, but with a slightly less bulky effect. "That should do it" Opie mumbles as he turns to face the newest evil to enter his life and draws the last paladin made blade to have been forged, Roquirem

Silverwizard moves out from the bar and into his room and begins to get ready to go to sleep, a simple spell to make his robes easier to sleep in and automatically clean him and himself overnight to avoid a spectecle like Steven's bath and also a few wards on the door, you can never be too careful. After this he decides not to change to a better form due to the reason that transformation is as painful as it sounds. He then beds down for the night.

OOC: ^ I was intending the next town to be Karfendale ^ (though my grammatical error may be to blame) Perhaps I underestimated your rate of travel; no horse and all... /OCC...we’ll catch up to you on the road to Karfendale." With an undertone of agitation he adds, "If we can avoid any more pointless delays, we’ll make it to there by the end of the day.”
As night falls on the travelers (Aladar and Ulantees) they approach the lights of a small town; the last stop en-route to Karfendale (nudge, nudge).
Clearing the last batch of trees before the town they hear a familiar voice, "You sure make a lot-a-noise."
Looking in the direction of the voice, they can make out a dark figure crouched on the back of an equally dark horse, both utterly silent until that moment. Bract, perched on his saddle like a cat ready to pounce, is now completely shrouded in studded, black leather armor (new chest armor and bracers). They both also appear to be freshly groomed; by the same, or different methods, is unknown.
He drops down from the saddle to the ground without a sound, landing in a full squat, again resembling a cat ready to pounce. He promptly rises, simply extending his legs to stand, mostly, erect; his natural posture is slightly bent and tilted forward, giving him a somewhat ape-ish stature, and making him appear slightly shorter than he already is.
“Took your sweet time”, he says as the takes Dusk by the reigns and walks her over to the duo. Dusk, also, is now fully clad in light-weight, studded black leather armor (barding).

Aladar grinned to himself as Ulantees' spirits lightened with the conversation. The two walked at a fairly brisk pace. Along the way Aladar said little, but at one point he remembered Ulantees had mentioned money.
"I realize the falconers fee must have been heavy, that was a very fine bird, and he will never see the likes of him again.... Which is why I will incur any fees we happen to come across" With that Aladar reached into the folds of his robe, and produced a slightly fat coin pouch. He opened the pouch to reveal nothing but gold coins, lots of them.
"I am sure this will cover any fees" Aladar added kindly. The two continued their journey without another word.
----------------------------
As Aladar heard the voice he immediately realized it was their third party member Bract. They were a full company once again.
"Hehe, Hello Bract its good we met up here we can finish our journey today. As you wanted" Aladar was indeed glad to see the man, it strengthened their numbers. Aladar sensed trouble up ahead.
"What is that, do you hear that?" Aladar seemed to be listening to something in the distance, when suddenly a blood curdling scream hurtled through the air.
"Elwins men!" Aladar shouted, and ran off towards the ruckus without looking back.
This is not right, why would he send his men to sack this village... Surely he is not that determined to find us... Perhaps Ulantees and his note shook the confidence of the king more than we can know.
As Aladar dashed within the confines of the city he saw a small squad of kings men standing in the square, one of them had his hand firmly entangled in a young girls hair. Aladar Concealed himself, and waited for his companions to catch up with him. While he waited he shed his robes, and revealed a fine mithril chain coat covering his torso. His legs were covered by a very fine metal, resembling steel but with a faint blue glow to it. At his belt was sheathed a longsword of obvious magical craftsmanship. Aladar had, with the simple shedding of his robes, effectively changed appearance from a druid to a paladin. He unstrapped a small shield from his back that was emblazoned with the form of a unicorn in its center.
((See.... I've been hinting at the metallic glint under Aladars robes... I was getting antsy about revealing it. Sorry If i've pushed a tad too hard.))

"My good blade, I am glad you have always been there for me, even when others would forsake me."
"Nay." a steely voice sounded from the blade "It is I who must thank you for being true, and being a fit master for me. If you were to become false; I would be forced to slay you, and I myself would end, as the magic in me is tied to your bloodline."
"Though even when I was weak, you gave me strength, and I am bound to your fate as well my friend. If you should be broken so I would become."
"Yes 'tis true, but neither of us can be broken or killed can we?"
"No I suppose not. I have lived long enough to face many great foes, each of which has fallen before me. Though this adventure... feels like my last."
"Do not say such things! Those that die can lose hope, can lose faith, but they are able to regain it all very quickly. Those who do not die, can not lose faith, must not lose faith, and we must never lose hope. Never despair at the end. I have served your line since the first warrior monks took the fight to evil. I will be glad as any for the end, but I will never fear it."
"You are right. I will not despair. I will meet the end with whatever face it meets me with." Mantis looks up at the stars, high overhead. "I just hope my deeds have been enough in this life."
"You will meet an end you deserve surely, and I will go with you when you go."
"Nevermind the end for now. We will not be gone so soon as to leave our work here unfinished I must also right wrongs I had made when under the evil influence." Mantis' left eye ((the silver one)) begins to bleed as he says this.
"Though the evil in me is far from controlling, I dread having to use it again." "you will use what power you must, when you must. Good or evil actions make no difference to a blade that sees the destruction of evil, at any cost, worth the risk of commiting an evil act."
Mantis wipes some of the bloody stream from below his eye. "Perhaps you are right my friend, but I do not enjoy being a Tiefling."
Below Mantis' cloak; a pair of bat-like wings unfurl from special openings in his breastplate. Inside his gauntlets; his fingers elongate slightly and his finger nails become large and sharp. Under his hood a small pair of horns have sprouted but are unnoticeble in the gloom. "I love the night, but hate this transformation it forces upon me."
Mantis watches the sky and prays for the dawn that should be coming in only three short hours...
((occ: EDIT: made squee's requested adjustments for easier understandability I'll try to remember to space peoples actions out more from now on.))

"I... should leave you now" Charon realises as she looks around the room... everyone else seemed to be slowly excusing themselves, and she loathed to outstay her welcome "I have my own room to frequent before the sun rises, or I shall feel although I wasted my money" she smiles softly "I shall see all of you when the morning truly comes..."
Softly she pushes away from the wall and walks past the all... however as she passes through the doorway she turns and stalls
"That said... if anything should happen during the night, please do not hesistate to wake me. I do not believe my room is that far from this one, and I should hate to feel although I missed anything"
She clasped her hands together and walked back towards the staircase to see which number the rooms started at, and for a moment though she saw a flash of red hair, someone vaguely familiar at the base of the stairs, but they were looking the other way, talking to someone else perhaps
She found herself staring... then she realised silverwizard had already passed her on the way to his own room. She bowed politely to him before turning on her heels, removing the key from her pocket and checking the number engraved on it.
"Three" she whispers, trailing her fingers along the wall as she came to the third door... and the third door did not say three.
Confused she looked around, kept walking. The next door along was indeed room four.
She walked back to her own door... now Three was clearly marked on its surface
"Wha...?" a mumble of confusion escaped her lips and somewhat hesitantly she placed the key in the lock. She heard the click as the lock gave way and she pushed the door gently open
As she walked into the room she gave her eyes a few moments to adjust to the darkness before hunting for a light for the candles near the wall.
As their flickering light filled the room, she could see instantly the contrast between this and the homely room Steven had been given.
This room was rich and lavish <almost suitable for a King> she thought uneasily. After shutting the door behind her, Charon somewhat hesitantly looked around, feeling increasingly out of place. The wooden furniture was laquered and polished giving it the impression that it was gleaming. Almost longingly her fingers trailed the detailed carvings before she turned around. To her the rich colours on the walls seemed almost claustrophobic.
Impressive, but not at all to her tastes
"Still" she murmered "To live in luxury such as the room possesses..."
She passed the grand bed to the shuttered windows, drawing the shutters aside and pulling the windows wide open. She knew it was not the most sensible thing to do... she didn't truly care.
The cool night air made her shiver as it swept into her room, but as she looked around... somehow, seeing the overly lavish materials moving in the wind made it seem that much more normal. She leant on the window ledge and looked out at the stars, but slowly her eyes were drawn to a much more unusual sight
Just outside the Dancing Wolf she could see the one known as Mantis practicing with his sword and mumbling words she could not quit make out
<He seems... most skilled> she thought to herself, but it all too soon became clear that below the windows, whether she could hear him or not, he was talking to someone other than himself. As he passed his hand past his face, she could have sworn she saw liquid dripping from his fingers... <tears... or...> She caught the thought.
She knew she should turn away. His cloak seemed to shift about awkwardly on his back, as if... <As if what?> she found herself asking as she stared <Its almost as if something were... growing... from his back> she chuckled lightly to herself <Heh... what a foolish thought. Perhaps I need my sleep more than I realised>
Unwilling to close the window entirely and shut herself off within this room again, she closed it half way before removing her awkward cloak and hanging it from a hook on the wall.
Entering the bathroom she allowed herself a shower before donning her night attire and settling down upon the comfortable feathered bed, wondering what stories the wind might be telling her as it continued to blow into the room through the window she had left ajar. But she couldn't quite make herself comfortable. In her heart she knew it wasn't the room... it was the situation. The situation she was about to involve herself in with these people
Slowly she settled into an uneasy sleep.

((ooc: I'm sorry Shinton/Gargantious... but I have to say, I'm a little confused myself. I'm not ignoring you on purpose... I'm just a little... confused about how to include you :s ))

Getting information from Mr. Avelin about his mission for the King, and that artifact, will have to wait for morning; she shakes her head, silently cursing the unexpected interference from Galeb and the King. Thinking idly as she slowly meanders around the room, now void of customers, taking note of spacing, windows, obstructions, pathways, ceiling, and the front door bolt; the latter of which is examined carefully. Satisfied that she can easily maneuver the area in the dark, she dowses the remaining lantern and situates herself for the night.
She takes a seat in a corner of the room, along the wall of the front door not far from the window. Pulling her cloak around her and the hood over her head, she kicks her feet up on the table and gets comfortable for a long night/morning, her hand resting on the hand crossbow at her side, finger idly plucking the taunt bow-cord.
“I should have anticipated the King’s actions in pursuit of Steven.” She whispers to herself, thinking through how things have gone awry.
“He (steven) probably doesn’t even know anything useful at this point.” She scowls under her breath.
“...and, Galeb was allowed to return and report to the King, so now he’s aware of a threat.” She shakes here head... This situation has suddenly become very dangerous. Galeb, as well the King, are certainly not going to just forget about Steven...
He didn’t even fight Galeb either; maybe he intends to flee after all. Poor kid...
…better refine plan ‘B’.

"Mantis?!?! where did that little silver eyed freak go?" Blaster blurts, recieving a glare from everybody in the room.
"Blaster, shut up, we have to get ready for this encounter. this could be tricky." Opie says as he pulls off his cloak to reveal his road worn half plate armor, complete with shield and the crest of his bloodline. "Alright, just tell us what to do, and lead the way."

The shriek of a young woman cut through the air like shattering glass, rekindling all too familliar memories at Gromburg. Sneering at the thought of a woman being mistreated, and hearing Aladars cry suggesting Elwins men, Ulantees snaps over his shoulder "Bract come". Surprised at his commanding tone with Bract, Ulantees is off in quick tow behind his robed companion.
After a short peroid of attempting to keep up with his somewhat lithe companion he approached the town sqaure to see it edged with people yelling angrily. A party of Elwins official troop were standing surrounded by angry townspeople, 9 or 10 at his first guess, threateningly snarling, forcing back the bolder men of the town, as a large brute grasps the hair of a sobbing yet striking young woman, pulling her golden locks so high that she had to stand on tip toe in order to attempt to appease her pain. The man was a giant, standing easily past 7 foot, each of his limbs almost as thick as Ulantees torso, his mangled teeth and lower jaw jutting out well past his stunted upper row. Pink sweat lathered skin and an upturned nose accompanied by black beady eyes with no whites gave the appearance of a ferral pig. He wore deformed stretched leather armor, which looked as if it were made from many vests, as though he were unable to find protection that would fit his rotund body. In his free hand he held a massively intimidating block of wood, piereced through with an equally massive chunk of shrapnel protruding from each side of the make shift weapon.
Another soldier stood alongside him, shouting something Ulantees couldn't hear over the ruckus of the townspeople. Realising that he may be comprimising his own safety by standing in plain sight, he throws a look over his shoulder to quickly locate the presence of Bract before quickly scanning the crowd in an attempt to locate Aladar. Failing to see his companion his forces his way into the middle of a large group of shouting townspeople, keeping a firm grasp of the hilt of Moonblood on his back, in case one of the civillians should attempt a bold, however suicidal entry into the town square. Standing and waiting for a sign from Aladar to take action, images of his daughter flood his mind, dangling in much the same position as this young girl, crimson droplets falling from her blood soaked skirt. As his brow furrows and his eyes darken, he considers the safety of the people around him should combat break loose. Surely many of the townspeople would lose their lives to the soldiers, if they don't get in the way of his own massive double handed claymore. "There is no room to fight here", here thinks to himself, "damn my luck", yet with grim resolve as another flash of his daugther dangling helplessly by her hair comes to him, he thinks to himself, "This day... blood will flow". As he limbers his right shoulder, he prepares to loose Moonblood from it's seath.

"Where is he, We cant fight with these people here.... It will endanger their lives..." Aladar was at a loss, what could they possibly do to get either the soldiers out of the square or get the people out.... Then it hit him, where was their third member.... Bract...
Aladar reached out with his mind, and telepathically launched a single word to Bract's mind... DIVERSION. Aladar hoped it would be enough, it was all he could do. Suddenly Aladar spotted Ulantees, he was crouched near the middle of the crowd, in a battle stance. His hands on his sword. Aladar rushed to his side, and gently placed his hand on Ulantees' shoulder.
"We can't fight here, I am hoping bract will make a diversion, then will be our time to strike" With that Aladar circled around to the other side of the square so when the time came they would be attacking from more than one direction. As he reached the other end, he began humming. Weaving discomfort and fear into the sound he hoped to force a few people out of the square this way.
Hopefully it will all be enough, Why did Ti'Anna not tell me of this.... I dont understand....

Mantis looked up at the predawn sky, a moment of pain seared through his eyes as he watched the sun crest over the horizon. Another final spurt of blood leapt from his left eye. Mantis' horns receded back into his head, leaving only sore-looking spots on his head, his claws returned to hands once more in his gauntlets, and his wings receded back into their resting place along with his tail, which he hadn't noticed beneath his own cloak.
Mantis again looked as he did the day before with just the normal aura of darkness that surrounded his tortured soul. The only thing different about him was a slight whiff of brimstone that would dissapate by breakfast.
"Should I tell them about this?" Mantis asked Oathen while staring at his now normal hands. "Or should I keep it from them even though it may be exploited and will most definately be revealed in a battle?"
"Tell Steven at least, but you could also tell the one who saw, but did not comprehend. A steely voice answered.
"what!!?" Mantis blanched "Who was it who saw, and what did they see!?"
"You forget that I cannot see. I felt somone looking from above. A female I would believe."
"This does not help matters," Mantis muttered. "but I shall help Steven in whatever way I am able, and if I am revealed to be a Tiefling; so be it. My deeds should speak louder than my species. I just hope I dont have to tell anyone besides Steven."
"Yes it is bad enough that we must tell one other, but I also know that the truth is priceless. If they ask, tell them."
