Well, I get tired of seeing all the negative being said about everyone, especially the staff, when they work hard to keep order in such a realm of chaos. I thought since the staff stepped in to help out a clannie of mine, that I should go against the grain and post a public thank you.

Someone stole from a clannie of mine. He admited in open clan chat with a crit that he has stolen, that "A friend of his gave him the password" to the account in question. I sent JLH an IM from MSN and once he got back to his computer, he stepped in and took charge of the situation.

Not only did JLH get back her crits, but he has also stepped in to salvage what is possible of the equipment she lost. For those of you who complain about staff not doing their job, I must say that this has not been my experience. Sometimes some things may not be able to have anything done by, but if the facts support the claim, I've found that the staff go out of their way to help the victims.

So I humbly bow in thanks to the staff for all that they do to make NM what it is today. Thank you all for your hard work, and thank you especially JLH for coming to the aid of one in need today.

Your right about one thing Lokey the staff always do the best they can to help out those that get there accounts stolen from even if its there fault for being not to bright and giving out there passwords and such. I got screwed over before a while back for a arch ranger and JLH helped me get the crit back and most of its equipts. So i thank the staff to for helping out with the thief problems. They are becoming more and more of a problem and it seems like the staff are helping more and more everyday.

I would also like to say Thank you to Staff. They have helped me a couple of times when i was gettin grief.. and Thank you for helping one of my best friends.. (my daughter in game) You dont get the credit you guys deserve.

Uh im pretty sure if the person admits that doesnt make a difference. Its pretty lame that some get helped when others dont. They should either help all or help none.

because the person did it by making a copy of the nightmist site and tricked the person into running their copy, so when the player put their user/pass in, it sent it to their pc, not mine
this is in breech of my rules, since it's pretending to be the server
admitadly, if you looked at the url, you'd know it wasn't nightmist...

You have to be one of the most negative people I've seen posting on everything though. You just have a really bad outlook, and I feel bad for you. But, that little rule I said? yeah, may wanna use it sometime, even if it's just to let others feel good for ohhhhhhhhh, let's say, five minutes?

It takes evidence and co-operation to repair the damage done by a theft. Just note that bad-mouthing the administrators for not helping in a theft case for whatever reason will not get your stuff back any quicker, if at all.

In this scenario there was plenty of evidence... which crits were lost, the equipment and gold lost, the rough time in which the crime happened... and JLH was able to find entries in the logs that coincided. Thank you, JLH.

Addendum: Exor, JLH and Humaa'Serafine had posted by the time I finished writing this - people are too quick!

Many people click links before they read them, and the URL bar is not something you often look at. But as long as the person has learned from their mistake and is more wary next time, it's merely one of life's (Internet) lessons!

What amazes me is the measures that some people take to get more stuff in Nightmist, whatever the price.
