Parting Words Of Advice...

Few of you know me. I don't post much on the forums and I don't sit at SGH. I don't enter moshes of any sort. I train in places where few others ever go. I don't PK. I've never sold a crit and never had anything stolen from me. I don't care about rankings or how much gold anyone has.
Why then should you listen to the ramblings of someone who in all likelihood is not at all like you? I've been playing since a week after the reset. I've been a founder of a successful, stable, low-drama clan for more than a year. I've trained more than 25 crits to archmaster. I've killed on my own every boss in game except for one. I've found (and kept) secrets that are still unknown.
First, I want to thank JLH and all of the staff and moderation team for giving me countless hours of enjoyment. Few people who see a finished product that is as solid and polished as this game will understand the time and energy that goes into it. Thank you.
My advice to you is to choose very carefully as you design NM2, as your initial design will determine so much about the flavor of the game. Why is it that the two ways to become wealthy in Nightmist are to either steal from someone wealthy or to be incredibly lucky? In the last month alone, I've seen individuals acquire more wealth than I've amassed in two solid years of training and exploring in less than a day through each of these methods. If accounts can be shared and taken, theft will always continue. If the most valuable items in game come about as a result of low-percentage drops from quests or bosses, then luck will always triumph.
Why do you lose new players quickly? Because they see the constant level of abuse that is permitted. You can do better than that for NM2.
Second, to players who are new to this game, my advice to you is to look past the surface. There are many, many good people here, but they are not easy to find. It is a sad fact that these good folks have gone "underground", hiding away from most of the rest of the community because of the growing level of verbal abuse, harassment, vulgarity, and immaturity of some players. If you can find them, and are polite, you'll be surprised at the help and support that you can find.
Third, to the players who find enjoyment in stealing, in harassing, or in cheating another player, I can only say this... Enjoy yourself. Savor every little bit of this ego boost while you can. But know that sometime soon, the real world will come for you. I hope that it does not bring true tragedy to your door.
And finally, to my friends. I won't say goodbye, since it is entirely possible that I'll be back to chat with you all at some point. Until then, my advice is simply to take care of each other. You don't ever appreciate the power of a kind word or a gentle touch until these things are gone.

A very poignant post- I don't know what to say, and yet for once I feel I should post something on this part of the forums.
To whatever degree you are gone, you shall be missed... a lot. Its my hope that I'll still see you around from time to time.
Until then, live life to the full (and continue to do this after 'then' please ^^)
I hope things go well for you.
This isn't a goodbye from me, I just want to make that clear.
This is an "until we meet again"

I have missed you the past month. You have always been one person I came to for advice and friendship. I want you to know, you will never lose me as a friend. I will always be there if you need anything at all, don't hesitate to ask. I hope you are doing well. And I hope we will meet again. Take care of yourself, and I wish you good luck.

You were very helpful to me when I asked you some questions, and I give you a delayed thank you. I don't like to say goodbye to people who deserve more, so all ya get is an "Au Revoir".
For the people uneducated in french. "Until we meet again"

Peace homes,
-Gaddy
I just really have to ask cause I didn't see the name---which boss haven't you killed alone?
I just can't really think of one I don't think you could put a party together for... (like, I can't do Aet'Thol, but I'm pretty sure you have the cleric power to deal with him)
I'll see you at the crossroads.

You forgot to mention stuborn (sorry couldn't resist)I will always remember you as one of the players that were most willing to help, always friendly and fair. It's a shame to see someone like you leave the game. You will be missed.

oh and . . .
actually your both correct . . ."Au Revoir" means "Goodbye" not "Until we meet again"
au revoir - definition from gcide
Au revoir \Au` re*voir"\ [F., lit., to the seeing again.]
Good-by until we meet again.
[Webster 1913 Suppl.]

I must say that your leaving post is one of the most realistic I have seen so far. I too have been playing since a week or so after the reset, and although I will not state my name or anyone else's name, I did gain a lot within the 2(aprx) years I have played. And as you have, I have seen people enter the game and within a couple weeks being able to surpass those who have worked for their stuff by simply stealing someone's account. It's sad. Good luck in your life ahead.
