pshft! where is the electronic category? (no it's not electronica) or at least the option of other... anyway... I can pretty much listen to any type of music as long as the song isn't utter trash... most mainstream music is, but not all... foreign stuff is pretty good... Four different selections for metal and not even a glance at jazz, classical, electronic, indie, et al. Way to balance out a poll there, champ.
A good post is like a miniskirt: short enough to pertain interest and long enough to cover the subject.

why not just have people just mention their favorite genre's since there are so many.

am i the only one that doesn't know the different between most of the selections in the pole?
i class decent rock as iron maiden or guns and roses, which is one of my fav types along with dance music.

Nah, i don't want to know if people like other than that stuff, because i personally think its the worst music out there. But thats my opinion. And i meant favourite genre out of those, not any others, lol.

Death Metal for me; Arch Enemy, Opeth etc.

A lot of Thrash: Old School Metallica etc.

anything heavy really :)

EMO pfft waste of a recording studio imo, but yeah the poll is pretty vague and i done think we really need to start another argument entitled "omg my choice is way better than ures u suk go die"

but anyway.

Wots emo? I saw that and thought Emu, that cute huge walkin birdie with the big mouth and bald fuzzy head :) Any kind of music genre rawks, people who stick to one form of music should open up a lil more and not openly put down every other type of music other than their own.

10 choices, of which 4 are different styles of metal....

I think its pretty obvious what kind of music the author ot this post likes

Emo = emotional hardcore iirc. Use audiogalaxy.com to find out about different genres of music (the satellite prog may have died years ago, but the comprehensive database of bands/music styles has remained)

I can give a better explanation of Emo.

Emo is emotional rock or punk whatever, basically whiny rubbish about stuff like "Omg shes dead help us" that rubbish, eg, Funeral For a Friend as a very big example.

Conversion, software version 7.0
looking at life through the eyes of a tired hub
eating seeds as a pastime activity
the toxicity of our city, of our city
Now, what do you own the world?
how do you own disorder, disorder
Now somewhere between the sacred silence
Sacred silence and sleep
somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep
disorder, disorder, disorder
More wood for the fires, loud neighbours
flashlight riveries caught in the headlights of a truck
eating seeds as a pastime activity
the toxicity of our city, of our city

Now, what do you own the world?
how do you own disorder, disorder
Now somewhere between the sacred silence
Sacred silence and sleep
somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep
disorder, disorder, disorder
Now, what do you own the world?
how do you own disorder, disorder
Now somewhere between the sacred silence
Sacred silence and sleep

disorder, disorder, disorder

I doubt anyone here knows who Funeral for a Friend (Juno is an awesome song) is. Emo can be used to describe everything from Dashboard Confessional to Every Time I Die.

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

He came to town like a midwinter storm
He rode through the fields so hansome and strong
His eyes was his tools and his smile was his gun
But all he had come for was having some fun

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

He brought disaster wherever he went
The hearts of the girls was to hell broken sent
They all ran away so nobody would know
and left only men cause of Cotton-Eye Joe

Gotta work...

Now everybody dance!

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe

If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe

Twenty-five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
And I realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of man
For whatever that means
And so I cry sometimes
When I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What's in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream at the top of my lungs
What's going on?
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what's going on?
ooh, ooh ooh
and I try, oh my god do I try

I try all the time, in this institution
And I pray, oh my god do I pray
I pray every single day
For a revolution
And so I cry sometimes
When I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What's in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream at the top of my lungs
What's going on?
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what's going on?
Twenty-five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination - Wht's Up by 4 Non Blondes
