I believe all rappers are complete idiots because they can't shut up but when they speak it has never improved the silence.

It's only because people believe the world is all about money that it is so mooseed up, in my humble opinion (< if only there was internet slang for that!).

Rock > Rap anyday.. At least the lyrics mean something and are about many different things and rarely about drugs, ho's, or guns. Plus you get guitar and drums involved as well makes it sound a lot better.
Thats your opinion thats cool, but rock sucks thats my opinion so keep it to yourself and dont flame a rap thread if u dont like rap. Stay out the thread if rap isnt your thing or go make your favorite rock band thread.

not all rap is about hoes drugs and guns... but what the moose is wrong with hoes and drugs anyways ... btw, best rock band of all time has a ton of songs about "hoes" (ac/dc)... and comparing lyrics between rap/rock is done.. rap songs cantain so many more lines, and doesnt just repete the hook... but ya, the rock genre might have more meaning overall but not all rap artists are the same... some good lyracists...
/t scripto lets share money then.. ill provide the bong.. you provide the money

And trouble may come and sometimes
You'll get pulled over by one-time
And when the 1999 rewinds, you didn't even make any strides
Murder all around the whole world, it's nauseatin
Everybody's hatin everybody, overrated
Why everybody actin agitated, I thought we graduated
Back in the saddle waitin, aboard the battle station
Haitin is a birth defect and you know ain't nobody perfect
And when the curtains, close open up the door, no more
[Wish Bone]
You need a lesson you can love our rappin
But they try an ban it, realize that it ain't gon' happen
We done changed the world
Ghetto voices bein heard and failed
You know it's funny. I got my guns, better arm yourself
Most don't know what to do, if you don't know what to do
Don't you know this government ain't built for me and you
I have a dream, no, I have a wish
If we can't save ourselve, then let's save the kids
Let the world go, let these babies have somethin
Let the world go, just don't blow this muthamoosea up
You kill him, he'll kill you
Some say it stupid but violence really lives where I come from
Hungry little kids where I come from
Thugs like me where I come from
[Bridge-Big B]
See we loosin this world we love
And it looks like the sinnin won't end
So I'm reachin high up above
Lord, let your blessings begin
now that is rap.. tell me how it is about bad things, or don't improve the silence

When it is just there for people to dance to it, it is not music.
That being said, I think there should be a different word for the music created by the artists labelled as "rappers". The whole idea of rap is to get your culture, feelings, and situation explained through music.
It is like poetry----actually, it is poetry to a beat.
So ignorance is the only thing that causes people to hate ALL rap. It isn't the category's fault that the nutsty nonsense gets grouped with the actual music, and it is a damn shame that people are more often exposed to the nuts than the music.
That's the fault of crappy culture and being in the wrong places to listen to music though. I suppose some of it could be blamed on the rappers, but seeing as it is a way to make money---that's how things work. If they can make money with a crappy jingle, they will. I would.
I voted for Jay-Z, but there are about 8 listed that I really like to listen to...
