Has anyone noticed that the value of Halberds has decreased greatly in the past few months. I bought my first one for 120K, now they're down to 80. It really sucks. If I was just lazy, I would have saved 40k.

I just think it's weird that a fairly powerful weapon is so inexpensive and common ingame.

it is one of the oldest one a days in the game and im pretty sure theres not a day it hasnt been killed so yea there are alot and the reason the price is going down is prolly cause everyone is trying to sell theirs all at the same time.

no, something had to have happened. I hadn't logged on for about a week and when I did again there price was halved. A new replacement weapon come out maybe?

At a time, the Halberd was perhaps the 2nd most powerful weapon in the game for the classes that could use it (the most powerful being the Blade of Time), but after the Cobalt Staff of the Winds was introduced and Harabec opened with its alternative items, the Halberd became less useful, so the price dropped to encourage people to buy them more, and those who had Halberds were selling them as they had a replacement.

I guess also that since more crits have gotten stronger over time, more people can take on the Demonic General with relative ease.

Halberds went for around 75k until zerkers came out, then they almost doubled in price, now seems they are back to normal again

PS wasnt the cobalt staff in a long time before BoT... just noone had the gold for cobalts until decent OS's and net connections became normal which allowed people to log enough alts, and also pacis came along, that enough gold could be made to buy them?

Well, with an expensive replacement weapon, wouldn't the price of halberds increase to help pay for the CSoTW?

when i first startedplaying Nightmist halberds where 135kish Rose blades where 275kish now halberds are 80k and rose blades are 150k

Understandible with Aw, Sovereign Sword and other weapons that are coming out renders halberds/rose blades obsolete if you ask me.

As alone said already, it's supply and demand. I bought my first hally for 65k. When zerkers came out there was no Harabec where people could just buy a berserker weapon equal to the hally, but tons of new crits in need, so of course the prices went up. Then pacis came out and it suddenly became easy to get a hally drop even for newer players, more hallies were up for sale, so the prices dropped already. Then Harabec opened and sold adamant warhammers, the better berserker weapon, so all those berserkers who couldn't afford a cobalt or BoT bought adamant warhammers, selling their halberds, which dropped the price even more.

It's the same thing that happened to museum keys. As soon as pacifists came out, prices skyrocketed because there suddenly was a great demand. Now the second floor has been changed, making it less desirable to train there for pacis, while the new paci area has opened. Also Harabec dungeon gives a nice new place for cleric training and less pking, so of course the demand for museum keys drops, and with it the price.

lol, speaking of meseum keys..I remember when they used to be 30k and now they're 7k to 6k. I saw one that was on sale for 5k once...what a price  . I'm pretty sure it was because not very many people knew the location on the mayor as they do today. plus the museum was different back then, when the modern art sculptures gave off more exp B)

Crane, Cobalt staff's have always been around...The simple reason for them jumping to 120k was that zerkers were introduced which sent the prices rocketing.

The price of Halberds have dropped dramatically since Pacifists were introduced.
It seems to me whenever there is a boss, there is a Paci present with JZ cast.

Before Pacis......
It used to be when you arrived at the bosses you were pked by the others there to prevent you from getting the kill.
The Mayor is easier now to kill than the mummy in the museum. The Demonic general is easier as well with Pacis being able to use DU.

The fact that it says that the Dagger of the Winds is the main attraction of the weapons' shop rather than the Cobalt Staff of the Winds tells me that Windia (or at least that dagger) was designed before the Cobalt Staff of the Winds came into existence. Just an observation...

Halberds are almost back down to the price when I began about 4 yrs ago. I could get one for 55-60k back then. The only problem was the struggle getting it. I barely bought a Halberd when the prices went up, refused, because in my mind they're worth no more than 60k. I've seen them go for 35-45k back then also. As they've said before, it's all supply and demand, just like the economy today.
