./cast Trap/item Name

that if dropped and left behind the item will act like a claymore to someone if they try to pick it up.
after a preset period of time the magical effect will disperse, allowing it to be used as per normal
the item couldnt be given to anyone else as only a mage could safely transport it,
this would mean that if a mage was pk'd, the pk'r wouldnt know if the items dropped wher safe to pick up or not.
And the affected items be used as a time limited trap, similar to vines, but with more effect.

1.) How much damage are we talking? 10,50,200?
2.) Items that you drop, would they go off in town/ because I could see that being a big problem
3.) Going along with #1 how much mana would this take? Is this a move that a mage could use non-stop or one that would take 30 or so mana?
4.) Would these be able to kill a person and if so would the mage get the pk?
I really do like th idea tho
Edit* umm questions not guestions right? lol

as for damage caused by the trap, it would be proportional to the lvl of the mage that cast it, the amount per lvl maybe 3 damage? (input needed)
the amount of traps per invent is something i'm not sure about, but if the mage 'charged' all his/her invent then the mage couldnt use pots or mana crystals.
and if the item left by a high lvl mage was picked up by a low lvl crit then it would kill the crit, but no pk's awarded to the mage.

Edit: Or at the least, check them for traps.

Why not thieves, they should be handy with such things, magical or not.Surely this would go hand-in-hand with a Paladin or Cleric (or maybe even mage) spell that could...umm... "revert" these cursed items?
Edit: Or at the least, check them for traps.

How would a thief know if an object would magically explode?

Maybe not allowed in a mosh? As thieves, mages, and druids cannot use their spells to covert, invis, or camouflage. Can you say, mosh pwning?

I fail to see how this is way too overpowered. Especially seeing as people complain that mages are so underpowered as it is.its just not needed and way to over powered your gonna steal something from some1's inventory? umm no?
I think its a good idea, anyway...
I support it.
(i'm also like two months late...)
What the what?

As i understand it you don't play lots/have a high level mage right? They got made a lot better a few months back (about 6 months or so i think).
Mostly now people complain that mages are overpowered
Personally i think the idea is interesting, it just maybe isn't for Nightmist
it's plausible that the SOB hasn't spawned

and of course other class's would be able to remove the enchantment of an item, so long as they're users of mana, just like Dispell should remove all cleric spells cast on a non cleric, (which it doesn't {Hint JLH}).
As for this idea making mage's over powered, that's only the case if you're a pk'r and use the items a mage drops after you've pk'd it, and even then it still doesnt increase the mages 'power', as the mage would generally be dead.
I do realise that ppl would drop these items on purpose but thats why they have a time limited effect.

A mage wouldn't get a "PK point" for it since they didn't specifically try to kill that Pacifist.
But yes, Raylen said it best:
