I am trying to get onto the game of NightMist.

I run a Windows Xp, Hickorytech Dial-up.

I've tried switching the ports, nothing, JLH told me to go to
Start - Run - Command Prompt - telnet nm.nightmist-online.co.uk 20000 (and 110) and none of that worked.
I reconnected my internet, that didn't work.
I disabled the Firewall, that didn't work.

Someone plz help me.

May have to do System Restore to the day it was working...JLH, would that help or probs not?

I reckon it should, but if you do restore it to the "Day" then it may just happen all over again and then again etc.. u get where im going... untill one day ur system moose's up all together.

Spells: Heal, Enhance, Create Spring, Cleanse, Vision, Call upon Deity, Aid, Holy Might, Divine Light, Wrath of the Gods, Righteous Fury, Blessed Force, Consecrated Embrace.
This character has been a level 24 Cleric, with 222 HP, and 274 MP.

Vinian is a Male Elf Expert Cleric. He looks normal, very wise, fast, and sexy. In one hand he holds a Warhammer, the other a Cuff Links. He is wearing an Ironweed Doublet, and a Top Hat protects his head. Around his neck sits a Copper Amulet. He is wearing a Ring of Windia on his hand. He is a member (°¤ ¦ LêGëñÐåR¥ ¦ ¤°) of Twî§têÐ Fåtè and he is in a healthy condition.

thats my fix for 99.9% of windows problems . . . a few hours work instead of days of configuring this and changing that

Can I just System Restore to the day it was working? (in case my brother installed or changed something?)

Un-install nightmist and then download it from a different mirror...I would suggest system restoreing it to the week or two *before* this happened. After that if you don't have aspyware thing get one. Maybe you can run a spyware checker on it and see if there is something maybe blocking it? Thats all I got lol. If one of my suggestions don't work take all your files that can't be replaced (or you don't want them to be) on to a disk and then re-install Windows. Then copy your files back onto the new Windows program.

System Restore didn't work...

Is it bad if it says the file name is Nightmist(2) instead of just Nightmist?

Nightmist(2) means its a copy of the original Nightmist.

If you can open the Nightmist window then it doesn't matter what the file name is.

I got it to do Connection Established, but then it says Connection dropped by remote host.

Alright, so the almighty JLH helped me fix it.

It seems that the problem was that my host file was trying to connect to Michael Barkley's [Minion] Computer. I had to change that by changing the host file [on notepad] to just the local host


SO...in conclusion...if this problem ever happens to you, just do that.
