- updates in version 2 beta 4b

really just updated because the splash screen is on it now. only other thing is that i added old hermit to the pod list. Only prob with the splash screen is that because it is not completely square there will be a white edge around the splash screen but you ppl will survive. with help of jlh i did get to make some transparent backgrounds but it would also make the splash screent ransparent and at this point in time i can't be arsed to figure out how to make the picture be visible and the form be transparent. (i tried reloading the control that contains the splash screen but then with transparency set to 255 [which = fully visible] but that didn't work and i don't feel like try'n other things now)



I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY INFO FOR THE POD LIST IN AGES! IF YOU PPL WANT A COMPLETE LIST YOU GOT TO WORK FOR IT CUZ I WON'T BE DOING THE RESEARCH. NO INFO NO GOOD POD LIST.

I WILL NOT UPDATE THE HELPER AGAIN BEFORE I HAVE INFORMATION ON ATLEAST 15 MONSTERS THAT ARE ALLREADY ON THE POD LIST OR THAT COULD BE ADDED TO THE POD LIST.

(i received only old hermit info in the last 5 days so pretty much don't expect any updates soon)

ok, so I finally downloaded it and took a look - why the orange? Why not match the nightmist color scheme and font type and color? It's a bit obnoxious and totally disrupts the nightmist mood (having such a drastically different look).

don't get me wrong, it's obvious you've spent countless hours working on it, and I congratulate you on taking on the task of creating a help system where one is unquestionably needed.

I just thought my initial reaction might contribute in further development - I think the look/feel should be complimentary of the game.

/t nocturnal 16 really :P but maybe one might be double haven't checked that :D

/t bishop i like orange ^^ and pretty orange isn't ugly that's why it is the way but you have a point but with all the nm skinning going on i don't think you can really speak of a nm color scheme and i can't be arsed to change it really :P

The splash is nuts and the color orange bothers me.

But otherwise its good.

lol :P i like orange! anyway i just noticed that one of the site i linked to for maps is gone so i'm missing loads of maps. i'll try to get an update soon with all the maps fixed.

if anyone would be so kinda to give me alternate links to the maps that currently don't work i'd appreciate it cuz it would save me loads of work ^_^

edit: [pretty much the entire map section is down, i won't ahve time to fix all of it tomorrow or monday so i'm expecting a new release with fixed maps (and hopefully all hosted on a reliable server) on tuesday or wednesday.

putting 60+ images into a small VB program won't help much at all. I'll host them if i get on the credits page :D

Why not make the installer "install" the collected maps on a diffrent folder and code the program so that it gets the map from the folder ( opens it )

no offense dude, but personally i'd rather you had a site that was there with content and stuff for more than a week before i got you to host something but that might just be me

if its hosting you need you could just put them in photobucket or something and link to them there

lol. I got alot of things going on in real life to maintain a website right now. Chronical Games grew very popular in a short space of time, but php-Nuke acted up and i haven't got round to fixing it and putting it back up yet. So no offense dude... but, F*CK OFF :P

nice update.... almost there with the pod list, but still, if you wanna list the normal pod's aet thols is *40* not 60, 60 (40 + 20 for healing), or anything like that. Its 40.

ok it 60 when healkilling but then you have to say bats/demonics give 75 pod, mas's 95..... and sandspiders ZERO pod coz it actually heals them if you cant heal on them....
Better than most pod lists coz it actually says the 60 is from healing... but the aetthol CAN be hit with normal weapons, and its pod is 40
BTW this gripe applies to almost every pod list out there... SORT OUT THE AET THOLS!!!!!!

Apart from the aet thols, great program. The level equipment list is probably the most useful non-map resourse availible to players

i've decided i'll most likely make 2 versions, one with maps hosted somewhere and one without maps that will be installed with the program (so this would be a big download) just got to find the maps again.

grr i'm having problems with the NMHelperMV (mapped version) if i can't get it fixed by tomorrow you ppl are stuck with an updated version of the un mapped one. but currently it just keeps loading the same map over and over again even if you click a different map and i can't figure out why :P

i have a list with all the maps, to load a map in a forum i use this code.

you get the idea. the weird thing is, it doesn't matter what map i select it just loads all the maps (i think it does that cuz it takes a while before it shows the map) but the finally shows the bottom map (in this case it would be sarka.gif)

anyone has a clue on how i stop the stupid thing from loading all the pics?

it seems as though you're telling the program to run ALL those IF statements at once through a single event, and you're only defining one radio button to load each IF statement, and each picture, it's obviously going to run all of them isn't it lol. since sarka map is the last image used in the last IF statement it will load it last.

You could use something like this....

Private Sub optMap1_Click()
imgMap1.Visible = True
imgMap2.Visible = False
imgMap3.Visible = False
End Sub

Private Sub optMap2_Click()
imgMap2.Visible = True
imgMap1.Visible = False
imgMap3.Visible = False
End Sub

Private Sub optMap3_Click()
imgMap3.Visible = True
imgMap1.Visible = False
imgMap2.Visible = False
End Sub

But it's a bit of a pain if you're using about 20+ maps. There is probably a MUCH easier way which you can do this. Infact... there is, i just can't be bothered looking through my VB6 book to help you :P
