I personally think the add multiplying and subtraction during rolling a crit is just a waste of time. They should either get rid of the questions, which the probally wont or make then harder as the person progresses, with a better chance of getting a better stat person when the questions are harder. Im just pointng my view because sometimes the questions are so annoying.

The questions are there to make it harder to create auto rollers. I know they can be annoying, but they make perfect sense. Personally I think making them harder wouldn't hurt either, maybe we could get rid of some of the stupidity that spreads out in this game lately. If they can't answer the questions, they can't roll a crit. As it stands right now, my 3rd grade daughter can answer those problems without trouble.

but what if someone is having math trouble and they can't get into the game because they don't know what 3*7 is??

to get rid of the stupid people i would do a question like this

what is the answer to....

square root of 10 + square root of 25 * the square root of 12 to the 3rd power + square root of 27 to the 3rd power!!

if you guys can answer that then you are allowed into the game.

also to make sure you are nightmist material i would asked this

when fighting a hydra what weapon should you use?

the enchanted sword of the ghetti

the sword of might

or the sword of the eternal fire.

If someone is having math trouble they can get a calculator.
If someone is having math trouble, they hit the wrong answer and they get to start rolling again.
It isn't like you become more likely to roll what you want as time goes on, so whether you answer the questions or not doesn't actually make any difference ^^

square root of 10 + square root of 25 * the square root of 12 to the 3rd power + square root of 27 to the 3rd power!!

Hardly a suitable question- there are no multiple choice answers ^^
To how many decimal places would you like that? I've got to 351.30 but I get the feeling it might go on and on if I go get a calculator... which is of course what anyone faced with such a question on a roller would do.
So... am I allowed into the game? :P

when fighting a hydra what weapon should you use?

the enchanted sword of the ghetti

the sword of might

or the sword of the eternal fire.

None of those exist, and someone who hasn't played nightmist (or read how Herakles and Iolaus defeated the hydra of myth) wouldn't know the hydras weakness ^^

Before you say I have no sense of humour, I did note the sarcasm.

There are more ways to be smart than by numbers, so why discriminate against those without perfect maths skills?

I'm against making them harder.
They're there to make you pay attention, not to make you trip up- I think they're fine as is; they do their "anti-roller" purpose, but arent that hard for those who want to keep rolling

twenty one (even though the math questions given by the roller only go up to 20 iirc)

what is the answer to....

square root of 10 + square root of 25 * the square root of 12 to the 3rd power + square root of 27 to the 3rd power!!

depends if you mean root (12*12*12) or (root12)*(root12)*(root12)
either way its not gonna be a whole number between 1 n 20

btw - while trying to get the math to come up on the roller to see what the number range was, i rolled past a 5-stat elf w/19 int...... AAAARGH!

it will be breaking the 12 into 3 equals. in other words it can't be brought down so it will stay as square root of 12 to the 3rd root power. however the 27 can be broken down into 3 equals...

it will be like this:

3*3*3=27... and so the square root of 27 to the 3rd square root power is 3. and so on and so on. its an algebra 2 question i did in class and i was the only one who could have answer it correctly..

I hope you realise that you're talking complete and utter babble?

If "27 to the 3rd square root power is 3" I think you'll find you mean CUBE ROOT.
The cube root of 27 is three.

Because "square root of 27 to the 3rd power" as you stated is something completely different.
And stating "27 to the 3rd square root power" is also incorrect. 27 to the third root power might have been closer but... theres no such thing as a 3rd square root power as such :P

Square roots only apply for the eh... second root power
on its own is shorthand for ²√
Once you start putting (smallscript) things infront of it, it isn't shorthand for "square root" anymore... merely for "root"

And that is something completely and utterly different to what you stated ^^

So... Cube root... like this ³√ ^_^

Sorry to bring this back but I think math questions should be removed and English questions added...I'm sure everyone who has played this game for at least a month, if not less, has gotten frustrated one or more times because people don't know how to talk.

The problem with that would be that this came by now is played internationally. What if the German players decide we want German questions, or the Finnish players demand Finnish ones? I know for a fact there are enough people on the game who's English isn't the best, yet they are fairly intelligent and good players. Why bar them from rolling, just because their native language isn't yours?

I was just making a comment...Sure english wouldn't be a smart choice for the question....math is the only real universale questions you can have.
