What about the people that sell maps to areas, Isn't that the same thing? Selling something you worked for that the other person didn't?

I just wanted to be clear here, since I haven't seen any official 'Rule' anywhere, and I don't know if this would qualify anyways.

also i used to think that it wasn't a crime to trade other game crits for nm stuff but that staff just wouldn't help you at all if something went wrong?

In this case, I don't mind, because what is being sold is internal to Nightmist. Therefore it is assumed that the work done to create, in this case maps, was done on Nightmist can thus can be deemed not dissimilar to training a character or accumulating gold.
If you build it, they will come.

wow i actually agree with this :P it makes sence
I believe in the Triune God;God the Father, the Son , and the Holy Spirit.I believe that while I was helpless and sinful, Christ died for me. Therefore, I now have the righteousness of God, old things have passed away and I am a child of God. I cannot be separated from the love of God, Christ lives in my heart by faith and therefore, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I have been chosen by God and appointed to bear fruit for God. I resist the devil and he flees from me.

Probably depends on who's selling... and buying...

When I read the question Julius prompted I assumed he was talking about NM money. However he came back to reply:

"RL"

This would be against the rules had this been in the question to begin with the answer would have possibly been different!

Technically no, it would not be against the rules. Those maps are not ingame items or gold, they are files created outside of NM, hence people having the right to sell them, distribute them, for whatever price they choose except NM items, however, Simon gave permission to do that as well in his earlier post on here. The fact that they resemble directions in NM doesn't make a bit of a difference, they are technically artwork done outside of the game and the property of the creator to do with as they choose.

Anyone stupid enough to pay real money for a NM map should be able to. With all the map sites avalible I find it hard to believe anyone would pay tho.

This makes since. However, then one may debate that someone should also be able to level crist for another person for IRL$. Henceforth they are not ingame items or gold but the services of one's time and effort outside of the game as well. As long as they do not roll the crit nor equiped the crit themselves then.

This is surely a gray area! :P

not that's not true cuz training defenately involves alot of ingame stuff (but also like you said time and effort but they are spent ingame) but a map is something outside the game. the only thing that happens ingame is mapping the area. which is something different then training a crit.

The crits are in game and therefore selling them for real money, is Illegal by game rules, Training for another person is still doing work IN GAME for real money therfore still illegal.

Maps you can do whatever you want with I don't mind. I doubt anyone would buy them for RL$ anyway.

Paying someone with real life money to train your character is also illegal. Letting anyone else have access to your crits is stupid, regardless of the circumstances.
If you build it, they will come.

Why is paying someone to train your chracter illegal? Its not changing the NM economy its just the same as if you leveled it, your just lazy lol.

he's talking about real money and the argument was and still is that some ppl can afford it and some ppl can't which makes it an unfair advantage. you can pay ppl in nm money

other then that if your jsut gonna sit on a crit and have others do all the work i think your completely missing the idea of the game.
