If you get XXX, it's only fair, because I find that offensive as THC or CKY, that we should get ours.

This makes sense to me.

How can you say that CKY's name is banned because some of the lyrics are bad or whatever or because it's a video series similar to Jackass? (which CKY is better, i saw a guy inject tequila straight into his blood stream with IV at a hospital...just..wow.) But there are other band-names with things in their lyrics that are worse.

XXX = porn. The movie is not what anyone thinks when they see the name, there is no real arguement to it either way. It is the symbol for porn, no child is going to think "ooo ya, that movie" before "ooo, porn...I know how to look for that with better things than xxx"

THC = the chemical in weed that makes you stoned. We've got names such as Reefer, Weed, and Weedman. Even worse, Cocain, Crack...many others, I realize most of these are not leveled up much at all and therefore really probably are simply not seen.

GPS...there isn't anyway to say there is something wrong with that imo.



I looked them up, Xxx and Gps now. I don't see the point of lowercasing any of the names...they all still look the same to me. I don't see XXX as different from Xxx. I don't see what the real point of any of this is.

If a person knows what THC or CKY or XXX means...what difference does it make that they are in a text based video game?

In the end, if it is such a big deal to the people who own the names, why change them? Why bother with not allowing things that don't do anything.
If someone is going to use a name like turnip...ya, don't let them, and I would pretty much say that XXX seems bad to me, but making them not use the name or having it as Xxx doesn't change a single thing.

Why not just let the guys have their names how they were?

XXX doesnt mean porn and it doesnt matter to me at all. Angelus was right in one thing History of the symbol we use XXX.

The first time it was recorded that this was used.

On the the signs and billboards that are sensored for content you will see XXX and under it is the word censored.

If you think that XXX means porn you are either A American or B one tracked mind.

But it doesnt matter argueing over a name and how it is put in the game is stupid, the name is now Xxx i still have the name and the same crit. You still have the name Thc it is not going back to the way it was. get over it.

Sorry, XXX is an acronym for porn. XXX isn't the "way to sensor." The way to sensor is asteriks.

Unfitting names shouldn't be allowed anyway. It's one of the biggest factors in the lack of atmosphere present in the game as it is today.

Try roleplaying with someone named something like 'h4rrypottar' or 'XFA' and you'll see. No big deal to most of the players, but if you don't encourage roleplaying in at least some form, you're alienating a large percentage of the population of people that play mud's. Nightmist could be so much more populated with a few changes, mostly aesthetical but the little things like this really do count for a lot.

this is rediculous, i expected like 15 posts and for this to be over. i see the whole situation has harky said it. i liked my character being sk8ermage, it was over 2 years old and was wondering why all of a sudden it was changed, which i havent gotten an answer to. i personally thing all the stupid names like thc, xxx, txt, mana holder 556 or however high it goes, mr pirate...i mean not mr pirate, ignore that one, he's just some cute little 8 year old who everyone likes, should have thier names chganged along with 5000 others. thats not what im getting at, what im trying to say is everyone should be treated equally, XXX and GPS should be Xxx (there is no way to argue that XXX doesnt bring porn to mind when you look at it, its just plain idiocy trying to argue) and GPS needs to be Gps, its only fair. just like every character with numbers should have thier numbers removed. HOWEVER what i was also trying to get acrossed, was if a characters name is being changed, they should be given forewarning or even afterwards, the chance to have thier names changed for free to something within the new legal system, since thier new name may not hold the same monitary (thats the right word right?) value it once held to that player. now that Sk8ermage is SkaterMage, it just doesnt hold the same value to me anymore, it just looks stupid.

ok i didn't read all your crap but tell me one thing why does sk8erMage gets changed into SkaterMage? if we are gonna be complete wankers about capitals then why not make it Skatermage? same with DeathWish.

edit: what i'm wondering is how can ppl get this pissed about 3 letters like XXX or THC or CKY? do they get hurt by them names or what? i don't get it. this just sounds like jealous people to me.

edit2: i do think THC and CKYand XXX should be capital names. i don't get the fuss really. why would a name be different when it's not in caps anymore? cky will still be the band and THC will still be drugs related and xxx will still be seen as porn.

but because this is a game you ppl wil lcomplain about getting offended by those words. will you ppl complain at a music store if they have CKY somewhere or a video store that has XXX standing somewhere? if i walk in amsterdam i see xxx everywhere. i don't complain, neither do the 4 year old or the 10 year olds. dude you guys must ahve never been to the red light district loads of kids running around there. but for some reason ppl on this game get offended by this.

and to be honest this is all bs and if ppl get offended by names they shouldn't just change the caps but the entire name.

and be consistent to that with everbody like SkaterMage and DeathWish then make them into Skatermage and Deathwish

Words are words and letters are letters. Thats about it. Just beacuase someone has made a band name something entirely rude or unsettling doesn't change that when you put CKY together that its just CKY the letters. N THC we learned what that was back in health class the letters though THC are again just letters. So next time someone flips you the bird(middle finger) shrug it off. It is only but a finger right? Think about it.... the only reason a name should be band is if it has a curse word in it or is vulgar in context to the game.

Just for the record, look at the case to a porno, and they are rated X. Not XXX but X. Not that I have a few laying around the apartment.

And if He cant have CKY because of the lyrics, what about have the other people that use musicians as their name, who use cuss words in their songs.
