I have been farming these for people for some time now and I only get 1-2 every 470 orc kills. Is it possible to get rid of the short sword drop and increase the emblem rate? Also without the sword drop it may help reduce lag from items being left on the ground.

The drop rate these are unreal, 1k orcs for maybe 3 Emblems is just crazy...

I got one today in my first kill. But then again its first ive seen drop in 2 months for me..... 99 to go fml

Some of the drop rates of this game seem to be validated by a playerbase of 50-100

347 kills today 48 swords 9 draughts 0 emblems. i may as well just sit till we can do gristle again fk.

Yea it's insane. Prob have to start farming emblems on a fresh 30 to have them by the time you need them. Lol

i finished my 8 month venture to 100 emblems.  hooray for 18 gains on half orc fighters................................

Picks up in the winter I have seen as many as 6-7 on at a time recently. I have Been working a lot soni haven't had much time to play.

Its designed for you to spend around 50% of your exp on aquiring them i believe.

That is the guidelines I went by, yes, following Maarten's original design.  Orcs aren't the best of course because they are relatively low XP for the level at which you need to collect from them, but theoretically this is meant to be balanced out by the fact that you will likely be training on them at lower levels as well.  Of course, this kind of falls flat on its face because most of the crits who needed levelling items were at level 35+ by the time they became available.

The drop rate was increased by between 25% and 50% a while ago to help offset this, but I'll be the first to say that it isn't perfect.  There are other sources of Orcish Emblems (the most obvious being the Orc Chieftain) but they generally need a party.

Couldn't you nix the short sword drop and the draught drop on the orcs to give the emblems a better chance at dropping?

Lol i'm not sure what the argument is about, but in retrospect;  tokens were easier than crates for me.  Crates imho just suck.  But I still think its more of a result of the player count and time available not the crate system.  tokens in general take a small amount of time compared to crates, even if the 15 minutes is endured by 8 people.  Im not sure why the token's "taking too much time" complaints sprouted into a system that consumes even more copious amounts of time.

 

Black orcs are the obvious choice if you have a vamp bow ranger and access to keys/party of 4-5, 3 if its an epic team.  Kinda unrealistic in the current state

 

I've recommended rangers over the years and one of the major reasons is low player count. game barely sees 5 people and a ranger can honestly do most of the sh!t a 5 man party can do, by itself.  seems outlandish, NERF 2016 

 

in all seriousness just play a ranger.  easy system 31-39. can farm all the items for any other class you want later aswell.
