After using them a few times it does seem they are OP. I sat north of NGH for a bit just chuckin bombs at people.

My suggestion would be:

Leave price how it is.
Half the damage.
Sort the nopk areas out apart from Arenas.
Get the level cap introduced on them.
Nightmist is like Pringles, once you pop you just cant stop.

i did pk you. on a lvl 36 ranger, a class that doesnt pk. you then chased me around with nightshades for the next month.

 

your a cabbage. how couldn't I? no one wanted you on that trip. i was the only one with balls enough to do it. and even after you started chasing me with shades i still pk'd you a few times. without needing shades (i go hard bro!) 

 

everything about you reeks sketchy. i may be an arsehole. but at least ill be an arsehole to your "face" while youll plot against people behind their back.

 

your anti-social, and you have no place in this game. everyday someone else see's that. even if you wanted to be a decent person, people still wouldnt like you.

You're right, you did pk me on a ranger, while you were rf'd by me, in a party I put together to do Lyzanther. And you did pk me a 2nd time, while once again we were in a party together. Outside of that you never were able to kill me. I did pk you 9 times with Nightshade elixirs, and I didnt even use them everytime. I was using a level 35 assassin that assassinates for about 250 damage; I killed your 37 ranger 3 times and your 37 or 38 bersker 2 times. Using my 33 thief I pk'd your cleric 2 times and with my 31 druid 2 times. Which only proves Nightshade Elixirs give you 0 chance to react like bombs.

Can I say this is just a old game why so much hate play or don't play what I keep asking myself.. Also I don't pk anyone yes I hit Danny on accident 1x and on purpose 1x.. Yet I am on a hotlist now.. And exploits will be used by exploiters we are all guilty of a few of these.. Bombs aren't the issue here..

first is was nightshades. then it was bombs. whats next? 

 

why not remove all the game damaging items and we can group up and pk each other again with some skill?

I saw the bombs were reduced by 20% which is cool.

 

 I had a question though.. since I don't play 1a on a 35+ how much exp loss is there per death over there? is that part of the problem with things? are people are losing huge chunks of exp everytime they get killed? like more than a few mill each death? or is it just a ego thing where people hate losing the gold and getting the pd on their crit? If I remember right the old days at level 30(its been a while since I got pk'd lol) we lost somewhere around 1.5m per death and it wasn't anything that really bothered anyone.

i think level 35+ lose 10+mil exp or somewhere around there. Which will take hours without damage mods. :/

To me that seems like more of the problem then... thats alot of exp to make up if you get in a pvp war and end up dying a few times during the fun.. I understand the argument a little better now lol.

The XP loss is the biggest issue.  I have always stayed out of the PvP stuff, so I can't really speak about the bombs, but when dying on boss runs at level 38 I'd lose around 16m, and now at level 39 around 19m. . . It's just insane. The 19ish HP and extra 1 or 2 damage per level doesn't increase the survivability of a character hardly at all, certainly not enough to warrant the huge increases in XP lost per death.  IMO the experience loss for any death should be around a half hour's worth of training on fairly good POD.  These huge XP losses make people not want to explore new areas with the risk of traps etc., or even attempt bosses with parties that are borderline. Isn't multi capped at something super low like 1m per death? Where you can run 20 characters to spread out mob damage, and include as many clerics as necessary to keep everything healed?

imo, I would say that a couple-few mill per death(or even the 1.5m per death) would be enough... people would still have to make some up and wouldn't be so afraid to lose such a large chunk of their work.. which might increase the pvp and decrease the anger when someone does get killed on a high level. People also might be more willing to try new things in smaller groups.. then if you die.. oh well a couple mill to make up.. or if you get in a pk war and lose 19m its not just from one death its from a long drawn out war with a handful of deaths.

 

In my personal experience playing I've been having a very hard time in the level 30+ era because life is busier and other games like WoW or GTA5 offer fun with friends and I can't spend all of my free time on the nm grind anymore. It seems like everytime I log on I am getting further behind rather than slowly inching my crits towards the end goal like we used to be able to.. and thats just with deaths to mobs or hunger/thirst haha! I can't imagine losing 16-19m exp everytime I died.. I would just be constantly losing ground.

On multi-alt the ex loss is capped at 1.5m. on 1-alt the same cap was removed some years ago. I would venture to say at the time it was removed some staff member had the idea it was necessary and other staff agreed with them, they pitched it to jlh and he agreed. In recent years staff have asked for the 1-alt cap to be put back in place, but to no avail. The amount of xp you lose post 34 is absolutely rediculous.
