Dragon Armor:

#1) Armor base: 55 Can be worn by: fighters Description: Forged in the hellfires of a great dragon's breath, the armor has undergone some sort of change. The charred armor seems to glow with a fiery aura. Though the armor appears to be extremely heavy, upon equipping it you realize it is indeed rather light. Even allowing great mobility. Engulfing the wearer in a nearly impenetrable shield. Level need to equip it: 35 str mod: 0 int mod: 0 dex mod: +1 con mod: 0 wis mod 0 char mod: +1

Engulfing the wearer in a nearly imepenetrable shield. Level need to equip it: 35 str mod: 0 int mod: 0 dex mod: 0 con mod: 0 wis mod +1 char mod: 0

Boots of the Dragon King:

Armor base: 7 Can be worn by: fighters Description: Made from some forgotten metal and forged in the fires of Dragon Mountain. Crafted in the forge of the great dragon king by a long forgotten dwarven smithy. The boots appear to be rather old and worn. Upon placing them on your feet and moving around, you feel somehow lighter, faster. Seemingly floating through battle with ease. Level needed to equip it: 35 str mod: 0 int mod: 0 dex mod: +1 con mod: 0 wis mod: 0 char mod: 0 (Perhaps through Masashi/Seishi. Give Seishi Executioner's Boots and 5 platinum coins.)

Gauntlets of Dragon Fire:

#1) Armor base: 6 Can be worn by: fighters Description: Glowing bright red, you think they are going to burn you. But the Gauntlets of Dragon Fire are cool to the touch. When you place them upon your hands, they seem to strengthen and fortify you. Level needed to equip it: 35 str mod: +2 int mod: 0 dex mod: 0 con mod: 0 wis mod: 0 char mod: +1

I feel that fighters need more armor. You can get roughly 125 ac on a halfling fighter, where as you can get 110 ac on a halfling ranger. Talking with a few other players in game, we came up with some ideas for new fighter armor. Any suggestions or constructive criticism is welcome.

Please note when you post which version of the armor you are supporting. Also, lets keep this one on topic. No flaming or anything of the sort. I don't want this one locked like the last one was. And I would also prefer that if you are NOT a main server player, please do not post as your opinion on the matter doesn't count for much, since you don't play main server.

I support the idea of increasing fighter armor, but the modifiers you suggest are extortionate. I also feel like if you took the time to edit the descriptions(especially when i already pointed errors out once), that it would add to the validity to your post. Lastly this really doesnt seem at all like a development suggestion to me. Its just an opinion, with a few item ideas tossed in, which belongs in the fighters discussion board.

Vote:Support the idea, not the suggested modifiers though(as a set). I support the idea of armor #2 or #3 but with the boots and gauntlets are grossly overamped in my opinion. Most modifiers have some sort of downside to them for a reason. The gauntlets you could state an argument about not being overpowered, but to me the boots are essential the worst idea ever. Better the descriptions and change the boots and i would probably fully support your idea.

If you look at current armor in game for fighters, they already have those stat mods in all those slots. I'm merely upping the ac count as personally I feel fighters should have a considerably higher AC count than the nearest class, which is oddly rangers. What's supposed to be a ranged class wearing the 2nd highest ac count in game. I could be wrong, if I am, by all means correct me. As far as bettering the descriptions, like I said in the post that was locked, I'll put alot more effort into the descriptions if/when Trevayne makes a statement on the subject. I would also be willing to work with staff on designing an area or boss for an existing area for these drops. Or crafting recipes for them. So if we can get enough support and a positive reply from Trevayne, i'd be more than happy to revamp descriptions and make them better. If you have any suggestions as far as they go, by all means please post them.

Edit: And yes I did notice the corrections you made to the descriptions on the previous post, i'm just too lazy to correct them until it may actually be worth it.

I support #3) for armor.
I support the boots but they are gonna be overpowered for halfling fighters and 10plat coins is a hefty price.
I support #1) for the gauntlets just because a level35 fighter with awesome equipment should look dead sexy on the look over

The reason for such an extreme cost on the boots is the fact that they are dex mod boots. As a matter of fact, I personally think they should cost more to make. Or perhaps have a crafting recipe of nearly same difficulty as the cobalt bow. Not necessarily such high end items to make them, but items that have very low drop rates. Elfstones, alligtaor skins, crocodile scales, and the like.

10 platinum coins isnt that hefty of a price considering the mass amount paid for boots of haste, ect. If these are added then devastate should be added for 10 platinum coins too /eyes.

/t albus: Good to see you trying to start nuts again, hope you dont get your good buddy's post locked..

And i agree with that to an extent.. if they were added they would definitely need to be EXTREMELY hard to obtain.. possibly harder than you have in mind considering how powerful ling fighters will become wearing them..

You didn't say anything about my suggestion of making them craftable with a recipe nearly equal in difficulty as the cobalt bow. And not all the items that can be traded for platinum coins are going for the value of the coins you get for them. BoT can net you 2 platinum coins, yet they are selling for 1.5+ on the server still. And as far as devestate goes, I don't really know what that has to do with fighters. But I do think devestate should be available in game for something other than the ridiculous amount of gold it's available for now.

Thats what i meant by possibly harder than you have in mind. Slightly harder than the cobalt bow.

And what i meant by that is devastate was sold for mass amount of golds because of its status, lets just add it to the game for 10 platinum coins. 10 coins doesnt seem like enough to me considering was my point.

The cost of crafting the boots is definitely debateable. I agree with you 100% that they should be extremely hard to get. Do you know how hard it is to craft a cobalt bow? I don't think the boots would need to be harder than bow to craft, but near to or just as difficult as bow. What's devestate cost on main, like 5b?

Yes, but the scrolls in existence were sold for about the same amount of boots of haste/boots of speed was the reasoning for my comparison.

As for the cobalt bow, it is pretty hard to craft but more and more seem to be popping up since the time where it was taking forever for the first few to be crafted. I think it is likely that the same trend would be seen for these boots, and they might just be good enough to cause a pretty big stir.

I think the main reason it took so long for the first few to pop up, was people having problems figuring out the recipe. Once that was done, there were enough of the items needed to make it in game for them to be easily crafted. The number of cobalt bows coming into game has been reduced as the excess of items that were in game, have since been used. Which may turn out to be the same if indeed the boots were added and made as a crafted item.

As far as devestate goes, I honestly don't think many scrolls have been bought. I know that at least 2 of them were gotten during a christmas quest a few years back. I don't know how many devestate mages are in game, but I know there isn't very many. I can only think of one off hand and I'm not even sure if it's still an active crit as I've not seen Mike log in quite some time.

Edit: After talking to a few people in game, i've found out that there are 3 devestate mages in game. And all 3 scrolls were gotten during the same christmas quest. So not a single one has been bought. At least not store bought, might have sold from player to player after getting the drop during the quest.

Yes, the 3 scrolls were obtained a few years(2004 i think) back during a chrismas quest and then sold player to player(all three i believe) for around 50 mill. Around the same price boots of speed(not sure) and boots of haste(30 mill original sale to abra) went for.

If I remember rightly, the Boots of Speed were always a staff-only item, while the Boots of Haste came from a box that couldn't be opened unless you attacked it with a spade. The Scrolls of Devastate came from the Christmas quest that ran at the end of 2005... it was also the last quest that Stotic ran, if I remember rightly. No-one expected 3 scrolls to drop though, as the drop rate on Evil Santa was only 1%.

Be careful when designing items that outperform old questies, as making them obsolete is sure to cause an uproar.
