Umm...can you get into your Tools -> Internet Options (if you're using Internet Explorer)? I doubt it but it's worth a try. ^^;;

Edit: Grammar

At my school you can't do all that, stupid Administrator only crap.

Could always try downloading the installation file at home and sticking it on a disk... I know our school computers can stop us downloading from the net, but they cant stop what we bring with us.
I've installed things off of disk before... not nightmist granted, but I've installed other things.

That said, the admins generally have nothing better to do than sit and monitor the computer server, waiting to see which username tries to do something strange first... chances are, even if you did manage to install and play it, some form of school admin would catch you :(

Erm... I wouldn't possibly know about such things ^^;;

*Whistles innocently*
*Waves 'Viruses are very bad' signs around in protest*

Gah, hate Viruses... I always seem to have so many of them infiltrating my own computer >.<

But... theoretically yes :s
Unless you plan to do that... in which case no ;)

Then again, one would hope the nice restricted computers would also have some sort of virus checker which might kick in.

*Really hopes your school has a virus checker* :)

Edit: Though it was nothing to do with me (*is quick to assert her innocence*) I have actually seen this done on my old old old high school network... the effect was more... staggered though. The computers crashed one by one... by one.

We have administrative protection called Fortres Grande. I've manged to disable it and install Nightmist, yet I had the same troubles as Abj. However soon I may be able to find the solution. At the moment the school SYSOP really doesn't care what we do as long as pornography sites are not visited, however a simple proxy fixes that. If that computer were disconnected from the school network however, you most definately could install and run Nightmist, however you would not have an internet connection, so thats another problem.

I was able to change the proxy on my computer once for unsaid reasons and acutally got my self locked IN a skool monitored computer system. So like maybe it could work the other way around?

It won't let you acces system or anything on the c:, so its kinda pointless to try unless you find a way to break the restrictions...

Well, one time to get past my schools, SUPPOSEDLY superior blockings of websites, etc etc I found an interesting solution.

I found out all the computers are linked by an instant messaging machine at the school. So I found a script that would open about 1000000 windows all at the same time when said user hovered the mouse over the link, then proceeded to send a size 98 font message to every computer in the lab, Which in turn crashed the server. When they brought the server back up 10 minutes later all the administrative access blockings werent yet up and running *because of the way they had it set up*. SO because my computer was the only one connected to the T1 connection in the school, and nothing was blocked I downloaded all the files, etc etc, I needed to get past admin access at a later date without crashing the server, and then crashed my own computer.

But that was with my schools system, and probably wouldnt work for yours... But hey, its an awesome story though :)

even if you did get nightmist installed, and running, the school server wouldnt let you to connect to nightmist anyway.

you'll need to login on a non-student account. most likely you can just find someone who knows a user/pass. maybe student aid or something. there's also a chance that the pc might be set up by morons and you can access the original administrator login from safemode, but i've only seen one pc that had that going on.
wouldn't it be funny if rich had registered this name first, and you were bickering with him?

It's school people! You are supposed to study and learn stuff in school. Surely you can go those few hours without playing Nightmist or other games and fill your head with at least a tiny bit of USEFUL information instead?!?

Darkling, you have precious little brain as it is. Don't waste the time so graciously granted to you by playing games. Think of all those poor kids who, unlike you, have the BRAINS but not the proper institutions to get an education.

My suggestion is the following: Do not attempt to install NM on a school computer. Instead give your slot in school to a smart kid from an underdeveloped country who will actually use it the way it was meant to be.

Yeah, or look up stuff on the internet that you didnt know.

I did that a ton in my 'COMPUTERS' class. Within a week I could tell my 'COMPUTERS' teacher more about the certain computers we were working on, and the programs we were using than almost anyone in the school. He omitted all my work, and let me slack for the rest of the semester.
