Ok, So I know Crane posted this back when the level 30+ was fresh, but I just spent like 20 minutes trying to find it, and I failed. So anyways.
I think that now with players reaching the level 35+ mark, this should be rethought. Right now it cost 200 gold for an advanced potion/mana crystal (In most places.. Exceptions in Faravar/Tirantek etc.) I think it would be a good idea to implement potions and mana crystals that give back 200-225 for 400-450 gold. I believe that it wouldn't unbalance anything, and instead (especially on the 1a server) it would lead to more exploration as to where you could recover more hp/mp with an inventory.
I think the main issue in the old post was that it would make clerics obsolete if you added higher hp pots. This is not true, because the clerics are the ones with the spells and you probably still couldn't take down the big bosses without a cleric or two with you to keep you healed/spelled.
So yeah, feedback please.

I think I deleted the topic out of frustration to be brutally honest. My original suggestion for "Superior Healing Potion" and "Superior Mana Crystal" gave 200 units, and were only available in Dendeya (for 750 gold), Cloud City (for 500 gold), Silversail (for 500 gold), Faravar (for 800 gold) and Tirantek (400 for mana, 900 for heal). The resale price is 400 gold (expect for the healing potions in Tirantek, where you cannot sell them back).
They were turned down because of concerns that it would reduce the need for teamwork (in the case of 1-alt) and because there are things like Glowing Mushrooms and Lifewater Potions available.
Here were the original suggestions:
Superior Mana Crystal
Description: This lilac gem is harvested from deep within the mana roots of Mount Melior, directly surrounding their almost supernatural cores. These crystals contain the highest concentration of mana available from a barely sustainable source.
Effect: 200 mana
Picture ID: 1734
Superior Healing Potion
Description: This concoction glows bright blue with the magic used to create it. Its recipe kept secret by the witches that brew it in their cauldrons, it is said to yield healing potential unparalleled.
Effect: 200 health
Picture ID: 1876
ADDENDUM: The other small problem is that Genevieve is tuned so a lone 5-stamina Mage can't take her on, and similarly, the Elder Treant is tuned so two Druids cannot take it on (unless they have Cobalt Staffs of the Winds or Vampire Blood Potions)... the introduction of stronger, readily-available mana and healing potions may upset the balance here; then again, they are expensive and the Superior Mana Crystal only gives 65 more MP over the Lodestone, for double the price.
ADDENDUM DUO: Personally I support it, but it may run into some obstacles.

Bump.
I think that if bigger pots/mana crystals were ingame it would allow the classes that are heavily pot/mana dependent to be less restricted to where they can train.

Class restricted potions/mana would be the best course of action.
