Rather than doing /redirect bahthius on every character, I can simply sit on Bahthius and type /redirect me and all my characters redirect pages to ... you got it! Me..
This'd enable you to AFK one character for when you disappear for a moment.
I also support /dnd characters (call me old fashion, I prefer characters to alts) for when you're grumpy and just don't want to be bugged (aimed towards a certain staffer, ahem, ahem).
Though /dnd [crit1] [crit2] [crit3] msg [message] and /dnd characters msg [message] would be the preferable commands, no?

how many commands do we have for turning on and off different chats, afk statuses, ignores, and the like? do we truly need more? besides, if we're controlling all alts from one alt, why not do something more usefull like controlling actions, for example, attacking. that would be usefull but it's been shot down before because it would make things too easy for alt armies. so on the precedent of not accomidating alt armies as set years ago when i suggested we should do that, why should this be any different? there's more than enough toggleable variations of toggles, and it doesn't take all that long to make your crits afk, dnd, whatever.
If you have 20 alts?...

...and you're really bad, then i could see how changing thier status could take an unreasonable amount of time. however, if you're doing anything at all with 20 alts you should be used to cycling through them in order and picking out individual crits for specific tasks without great difficulty. i mean, if you're able to control 20 alts simultaneously with enough skill to avoid being a cumbersome mess of mismanaged crits, then you should be able to set them to afk. right?

Attacking actually changes gameplay---making it really easy if you can press one button to make 10 crits attack at once.
Setting characters afk and dnd doesn't change anything aside from having to bother to do it.
