For example, tonight i tried to send the following to the crit 'princessmandy'

and got the following
princess is not currently online.
Since obviously Princess is not online it might follow i might very well be trying to send the message to someone who *is* online, perhaps the system should ignore offline players when deciding who a message to an enshortened name should be sent to
