I can understand #history, but would there really be anything that important in friend and enemy chat that you would need to check the history for?

Dont get me wrong now, if you can point out a valid reason for having a history for friend and enemy chat then I am all for it. And the reason should be a little better than because theres a history for memo's, system log, clan chat, etc etc.

When I'm running away from somebody (which I do alot) friends are talking to me, but I would keep running and my screen restarts (turns gray and I lose all chats so ]history would be nice.

I can understand the reasoning behind it. But friend/enemy chat isn't usually that important. And you can just ask the person to repeat if you're really bothered, friend chat doesn't get as hectic as clan chat can.

Umm if your a running a paci ya got a friend list that is as important as your clan since you never are able to talk/work with anyone any other way, in my opinion the pacifist would like this.

Yes a pacifist has the advantage of not having to run from people... but trust me, on a journey through a substantial area with monsters... well, the situation changes :)

Theoretically, if you're running someplace with say, a fighter or a cleric or whatever crit you wish... you can take it slow if you wish. You can kill things, and when they're dead they cant hurt you anymore. Then you can slowly move through, killing things and checking chat as you go

For a pacifist, who gets hurt by those monsters the same as a fighter does, but does not get the chance to kill them to create their own personal (if temporary) safehaven... they have no choice but to keep running at top speed ^^

You try going for a liesurly(sp?) stroll through the royal forest to the illuminated tunnel or harabec, honestly that requires MANY uses of salve at an all out run.

Heh, fair play.

When I go to the IT, I always mash my keys to get there as soon as possibly and with minimal damage... I never stop and kill things along the way, be that with my pacifist, paladin or otherwise

I tried to dash to harabec with one of my pacifists and made it without taking too much damage, but I did cheat and use shield self about half way through the trip ^^

I then remembered my own comments about taking it slow with a 'fighting' crit so I went and gave it a go, and admit that taking my (lv24)Paladin to Harabec is an outright nightmare if I try it at a leisurely pace, so I gave up on that idea pretty quickly.
I could argue though, that most would travel in a group of more than one... perhaps this would have made it easier- even if only to assume that some of the monsters attacks would have been hitting someone else, I'm not certain

Anyhow, I also tried the 'all out run' with my pally and I did manage to get there at a dash from the IT only using aid three times along the way, so I was quite proud of myself ^^

But me being proud of myself is off topic.

The only thing I regretted actually was that noone tried to talk to me on the way... I would have liked to have seen how my friends would respond to me going 'please repeat that, I was running' or 'my screen greyed, what did you say'
:)
I truly can see the use of these history functions... I'm not saying that I would necessarily be one to use them, indeed I probably would just beg my friends to repeat everything
But they would be useful

I personally have wondered if these existed and wanted to make use of them quite of few times.
