I think the blade of time should be magical. :) Too many weapons sold for cheap are getting close to it's eliteness. (dont think that is a word, but its all good)

I'd agree, Blade of Time should be magical. Afterall, it's come from some wierd place in time.. Where as the Enchanted Bow is magical due to it being in a special box (I assume)...

I would change the Hydra Thorn desc to have a base damage in /library. It's almost impossible to make an educated decision as to whether it's worth using on your babies.

You'll be pleasantly surprise to find that has already been addressed, and there is currently no longer any items without descriptions. :)

Fine...then I'd change all spells without descriptions...

Does that count as a weapon? ^^;

Oh...and I checked...some items just have their name as their description. I think that's cheap. =P

Actually, I just logged on and did a random /library and it turns out that the Genesis key doesn't have a proper description. ^^;

I'm trying to figure out which ones also don't have them...but, like you said, a lot of them have descriptions that I didn't notice before. ^-^

1 base damage...

I would change hydra thorn to 19 Base Damage or leave it at 1 and make it magical

Ya...hydra thorn blows pretty bad. How do you know it's got 1 base? and Great Axe's base?

Forged from the finest ore by the finest dwarven weapon smith, the Axe is perfectly balanced and weighted to deliver damaging blows. A powerful elven Archmage enchanted this artful weapon to enhance its combat abilities even further. Ariat, with this mighty weapon, and Baltor ventured into the Ercule Swamp and never returned - though the Hydra has never emerged either. The venture was deemed a success, with a hefty price.. ((((WHAT WOULD BE THE BASE DAMAGE ON THE GREAT AXE.))))).

It was said somewhere on the old forum. I forget it now, shoot. But I do happen to know that the GA was an ok weapon. I seriously normal weapon descripts for GA and HT would be useful.

Shouldn't the two weapon librarys be modified to meet the Nightmist Standard? Standardisation is EVERYTHING! *Slaps fist into hand in business like manner*.

I'd make my Rune Blade atleast 21 base.
It used to be the same base damage (18) as a pike, until they upped the pike to 21.

I think rune staff should be magical.. based on its description..

Base damage: 13, Can be used by: clerics, druids, fighters, mages, paladins, rangers, thieves, berserkers, Description: The Rune Staff has been forged many centuries ago from a rare, highly magical , light blue metal, of which a few grams is worth an entire kingdom. There are magical symbols engraved upon it, and embedded in the end is a glowing green emerald. The Runestaff radiates huge amounts of magical energy , and crackles with power when it is waved through the air. For most, it is a deadly weapon, but in the hands of a master, it is possibly the most powerful relic known to exist., Level needed to equip it: 10, Magical: No , Vamparic: 0.6, Armor: 0, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0, Poison chance: 0, Poison/30s damage: 0, Monster damage table: , Mana leech: .

Edit: lol mike dont complain about base damage.. rune blade is pimpin compared to staff damage

I'd also change hydra thorn. I'd leave it at 1-5 base damage. However I'd increase the success of poisoning. Also the frequency and the damage done.

I would also change the hawk talon to a lower base damage, and decrease the mana leech by a fair amount, afterall 100 is a little too much.

I would also create a druid wepon with about 23/24 base damage at level 23/24.

Infact there are lots of things I'd change, but I wouldn't have the time or space to list them all.

Chnges need to be done to the wepons and armor. They should be class and level specific, i.e. Lower base damage wepons at low levels, and higher base damage at higher levels.
Also the same would be evident for armors etc too. For instance Bronze Robes are 17 ac at lvl 18, and Shroud of Awe is 20ac at lvl 16. Go figure.

i agree w/ryan on the Rune Staff, it says magical several times in the /library of it, yet it isn't magical. I'm not asking for base damage to be raised or nething, it's fine the way it is, but making it magical would be a nice touch. Making the blade of time magical wouldn't be a bad idea, i mean it comes from BFE and one would assume a "Time Knight" would have some kind of magical power, perhaps from his sword! Cobalt staff is pretty nice the way it is, although i wouldn't mind seeing the level of vamparic changed.

I don't see how something could 'drain' the life of another being without being classified as magical. It makes sense for the weapon to be set as magical, Blade of Time however may not be so necessary.

The rune staff should be magicial, I also cannot see the rune staff not being magical it is the apothosis (not 100% sure on spelling) of magic items almost, it is also very uber.

I'll say it again on this thread -

'Magical' is just another stat name that someone made up...........it wasn't added so the game developers could make some magic weapons, it was created purely because Pandilex (I think) wanted to add a nice new challenge to bosses - i.e only some weapons can damage them. Magical is just a description for a stat that basically means you can hit certain monsters, and bares no significant relation to the magic your thinking of (created by some magical being, aura of greatness, power of the magi, whatever.....)

It could have so easily been Piercing: Yes/No, but by chance it happened to be named magical - so going by that theory of mine I'd say that the rune weapons and what not should be kept the same.

Just because a weapon has a description that says its a magical weapon, or it has been dropped by a magical monster in a magical place doesn't mean it should be given the stat 'magical' however strange that may sound.........Im sure one of you will understand what i mean.

In a crazy sort of way what ya said makes sense,

Besides every-one is highly against mages be given better offensive spells as most are to lazy to lvl one too arch,

Also mages cant use their 'magical' offensive abilities against things like the crystal giant,

So why change all the other weapons to have that ability, and not mages ????

Hmm :)
