Its a coke. At least thats what I have gotten used to calling anything here in the south, its a coke.

Back when I was a kid in the north (Boston, Mass), it was a soda.

I usually call it by its brand name, often Pepsi or Lemonade. Generically, I just call it a fizzy drink!

I do sometimes call Pepsi or Coca Cola by the name "coke", even though I'm trying to avoid that now because that nickname came from an infamous ingredient that was taken out of the drink a while ago.

yea as stated before in the southern US most everyone calls it Coke no matter which brand of SODA you are talking about. Most yakees call it POP

I've never heard anyone around here call it anything other than that.. unless, they're refering to the actual brand name of the beverage.

I first heard... "soda" , "coke" , "sodapop".. etc.. on Nightmist.

When I hear anything other than.. "pop" , it sounds very strange to me.

Oklahoma... They Call It Pop And It Annoys The **** Out of Me. In California they call it Soda or Coke. Hearing Pop makes me want to hurt people out here. "Lemme get a Pop" *punches him in the jaw* "DUDE WTF!!"

if you want to get technical, most of them that I know of call it soda "pop"....using both words ;p

Canada and its pop. I have never heard it called anything else up here and generally if someone is ordering pop they don't just ask for a pop. They designate what type they want i.e. Root Beer

Minnesota- it is called pop here .... however i call it soda,drink or by its name (coke,pepsi,dew).. in asking why its called pop.. people say its because of the sound it makes when opening it ... lol
