You're standing in a field of tall stalks of barley. To your north you can see the towering evergreen forest. To your south is a frothing everglade.

You're surounded by tall barley. Everytime you take a step the barley stalks push against you, snaring your knees and biting at your ankles. To your north a towering forest of evergreen trees line the horizon, while to your south a frothing everglade releases a foul malodor.

--
You're standing alongside a rancid everglade. Dead carcesses border the shoreline as small ripples from animals, still living, move within the murky waters. You can go north, towards the barley field, to escape from this vile everglade.

You're standing alongside a rancid everglade. Dead carcasses of snakes, boars, and alligators float by the shoreline, creating a repulsive odor of decay. Baby alligators and small snakes stir the water as they go on with thier everyday activities, completely disinterested in the floating bodies. You can leave this vile area by going north towards the barley fields.

--
You're in the unkempt bedroom of an adolescent boy. The floorboards give a little everytime you take a step, squelling loudly as if they're going to break away from under your feet. You can exit the room by going south.

You're standing in the unkempt room of an adolescent boy. A large dent in the wall looks almost to be the shape of an abnormally large man, but undoubtedly must have been made from something else. The floor screams with every step you take, warning that it could give way at any moment. You can exit the room by going south.

ummmmm

If these are area descriptions they are fairly well-written, but by themselves they are not much use without a storyline and/or a purpose to the area.

The toxic odors of the swamp engulf your senses, over-taking your ability to stay conscious. Hitting your head on the ground, you sustained 43 points of damage.

The water cobra is slightly smaller than its ralative on land at 2 feet long, although the stripes are what seperate the two species. Being the only species of snake that wears purple and orange stripes, the water cobra is seeable in all enviroments. The water cobra is in healthy condition.

/library Tales of mystical creatures: Tree Faerie
Rarely seen, the tree faerie moves with a celerity unseen anywhere else, making it almost impossible to make out what it looks like. Making there homes in large forests, legend states that wherever a tree faerie resides, a well of life is close by, although none have ever discovered, some still cling to hope that life can be eternal.

/library Tales of mystical creatures: Minatuar
Although they're considered a half breed, the minotaur has unknown origins, not believed to have originally been human or bull. Masters of astrology, the minotaurs have been warning of mysterious events with an unhinging resolution for centuries without any falter for detail. Minotaurs keep greatly to their race and live in rank among tribes, but of late rumors have surfaced of new pact makers who lend their secrets to those who know the rite.

Still not slightly sure what the area is about.

Oh, and the Minotaur already exists as a monster.

your not supposed to know everything about the area, plus i have like 20 minutes a day to work on it, so its slow coming, but sundays i have longer to work on it ^_^. anyways, and the minotaur wasnt a monster but a /library description. you go through the area and you run into different types of minatuars o,o... ill eventually put the area together in the right order, plus i doubt it would be considered, but input on whats already put down is always a plus, specially if you would make any changes, criticism is the life blood of the world

Don't tell me they're too long :P (a real detail descriptions)

You're standing on the burm of a fast flowing creek. A dense amber fog smothers all hope oh being able to see more than a couple meters infront of you, and gives the snow blanketed ground a safe haven from the beating rays of the sun. Short shrubs stretch thier boney, iced-over arms towards the skies while leafless birch trees erratically line the mountainside. You can explore the mountainside by going North and South, go East towards what looks like two ridges, or West towards a large forest.

---
if you can see a patern and the way this area is going...

....monsters

sapphire path: Carrier Ants and Rosewood Songbird
Barley Field: deer
Evergreen Forest: Masked Shrew, Pack of Pikas, Forest Leopard, Tree Faerie
Everglade: Alligator Snapping Turtle, Scimitar Leopard, Bottle Nose Alligator, Water Cobra, Plague Flies
Coal Crevice: Helmet Ox, Spotter Mountain Goat, Cliff Eohippus
Gadge Mountains: Mountain Lion,
Petrified Woodlands: Eouplocephalus, Saiga Antelope, Short Faced Bear,

yay, end of work day

This sounds like it could be a quite good area. It'd need a good map to pull it off though.

If these are area descriptions they are fairly well-written, but by themselves they are not much use without a storyline and/or a purpose to the area.

Not entirely true. Totally new unique storylines and areas become available when one sheds themselves of the encumbering shackles of past ideas... I'd love to see alot of new little bits and pieces that serve no REAL purpose other than to flesh out the world and give it more colour. As for this area...
