Lets say B puts a alert on A.When A logs on how about it says
You alerted B.
This lets both ppl know that the other is on.
this would work well with this idea.

all that's totally cool with me, i like it a bunch, but i know i'd only use it for hunting. because everyone i'd want to talk to finds thier way to clan chat or friend chat which alerts me of thier presence already.

If you like talking to them I would assume you have them on friends list, or they could even be in your clan. Effectively telling you when they log on.
I see this being used purely for pking purposes.
